Utiliser to Avon, one subject, Gauda Prime.

Absolutely Brilliant, TT. This could go on and on and on and on....

Yes, it's one of those that could simply could get on going... Grin

Made one edit to my story, because I realise I missed an obvious reference in the Blackadder section.

Interesting reads - quite a range! :-)

Best give it a punt....

=============================================
As a dream, being a writer wasn’t a bad one. As a career prospect, it was appalling. For the masses books were just not a thing of interest anymore – even for those who were free enough of the drugs, clear headed enough to be able to concentrate on reading.

Still, a dream can get under the skin. It can crawl into your soul whilst you’re not looking, and suddenly, you and your soul are trapped and imprisoned by the thing you thought was a dream.

Kell had longed to write tales. Stories of fantasy, of deeds heroic. He knew he could never live up to the greats, those writers of the long dead past such as King, or Clarke or Boucher – but he’d always thought he could spin a good yarn.

String a few words together.

Produce something others might read, perhaps even find believable.

“Alpha grades. Top of the pile, bottom of the heap. “ Kell mumbled to himself, glancing at the work before him.

His skills and talents had been picked up in standard screening. The federation, nothing if not efficient. Kell sighed and flicked back through his research. Historical figures, politicians.

The federation had found a use for Kell’s skills. First in their news bureau, and now here. Taking half-truths, and making them real. So real, the public, the unwashed – drugged – masses would believe.

Kell made a few notes, shook his head, and scribbled them out. The list before him, their careers ruined by scandal, he needed something more… more damming. What did people care about anymore?

Kell no longer wrote about heroes. Now he wrote about villains. No – not true. Now he MADE villains. Not a writer, an assassin - of character (he liked to joke – he found the sad play on words witty.)

With sudden inspiration he opened up his current file and entered quick notes.

“Our villain, Blake, Roj. Source of public hatred – threat to children…..”
