WHAT THE FANS THINK: Blake's 7
BobF
Pencil Tip Publishing is excited to announce our newest project: WHAT THE FANS THINK – a new series of books where the fans will review and assess their favourite television series. Fan opinion can be extremely critical, often harsher than that of the meanest television critic. But when the fans love something, you know it. Praises are heaped in droves.

Each volume will concentrate on a specific show and will feature original reviews and analysis of every episode of that particular series. The fans will have their say on what they think are the best, worst and merely average, episodes of a series. You just might be surprised by what they have to say.

The first two books in the series, What the Fans Think: Blake’s 7, will concentrate on the 1978-81 sci-fi series “Blake’s 7,” (while the second book, What the Fans Think: Torchwood, will concentrate on the Doctor Who spin-off series “Torchwood.”)

This is where you the fans come in.

We want you to submit your personal reviews of select episodes from each series.

Beginning September 22, 2018 will be accepting submissions for both volumes.

To find out what are we looking for, and for further information, please visit the “What The Fans Think” section of the Pencil Tip Publishing blog at www.penciltippubl...fans-think

$1.50 from the sale of each book will be donated to the Vancouver branch of the BCSPCA (The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) www.spca.bc.ca.

Thanks to those of you who have contacted us so far volunteering to write reviews. We've had 7 stories picked so far or the "Blake's 7" project, so there's still lots of stories up for review.

BobF
A quick update on the project - roughly 40% of the 52 episodes have been chosen for reviews so far, but there's still lots to pick from including:

Space Fall
Time Squad
The Web
Seek-Locate-Destroy
Mission to Destiny
Project Avalon
Bounty
Orac
Redemption
Weapon
Horizon
Pressure Point
Trial
Killer
Hostage
The Keeper
Powerplay
Volcano
Dawn of the Gods
Children of Auron
Ultraworld
Moloch
Death-Watch
Rescue
Power
Traitor
Stardrive
Headhunter
Games
Warlord

As you can see, there's some really great episodes still open to you to offer your thoughts on.

And, don't forget - we're also looking for specially penned essays on any aspect of Blake's 7. These can be short articles/opinion pieces/etc to spread throughout the publication. Topics could be on things like: “Why didn’t Blake and Avon get along?” or “Was the Federation really that corrupt?” or “What made Servalan such a determined adversary?” etc.

Full details on the project, and how to contribute, can be found here.

As Blake's 7 fans we all know that books having anything to do with the series are few and far between. And now, with What The Fans Think: Blake's 7, here's every Blake's 7 fans chance to write about their favourite show.

We've still got 27 episodes up for grabs.

All that's involved is spending roughly an hour of your time watching an episode of your fave series and then writing 1000-1750 words of your honest review/thoughts/assessment of the episode. That easy.

Plus, if you're up for it, we'd love to feature any specially penned essays on any aspect of Blake's 7. These can be short articles/opinion pieces/etc to spread throughout the publication. Topics could be on things like: “Why didn’t Blake and Avon get along?” or “Was the Federation really that corrupt?” or “What made Servalan such a determined adversary?” etc. - whatever you'd like to write about. (These 'bonus' pieces can be up to 3500 words.)

And, don't forget that $1.50 from the sale of each book will be donated to the Vancouver branch of the BCSPCA (The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) www.spca.bc.ca.

You can find the full submission details on the Pencil Tip website - yeah, we're the people who published the Star One Compendium - at: www.penciltippublishing.wordpress.com/what-the-fans-think

We hope to hear from you!

We’re sending out another call for reviewers for our Blake’s 7 edition of our What The Fans Think book. We still have several episodes from each series available to review, so if you haven’t already signed up to contribute to either project, and would still like to, you’ve still got a chance.

The following episodes from each series are still up for grabs as of today, November 30th (11:50 am PT):

Time Squad
Seek-Locate-Destroy
Orac
Weapon
Horizon
Pressure Point
Trial
Hostage
The Keeper
Powerplay
Volcano
Dawn of the Gods
Children of Auron
Ultraworld
Power
Traitor
Warlord

If you’d like to review one of the above episodes, just send us a quick email to: penciltippublishing @ shaw . ca with the subject What The Fans Think Reviews.

BTW, if you're a fan of Torchwood, we're also doing an edition dedicated to that series.
