I've just moved some rooms around doing renovations, and lo and behold! what should I find but a cache of old Liberator Popular Front Newsletters! I'm currently scanning them, so I can enjoy reading them on my iPad, as the originals are rather fragile.

Curious to know if there are any other old LPF members out there--I still have my badge and membership card!

Yes I was a member too and wore my badge at Cygnus Alpha 4. Spent the weekend chatting to Janet who was a founder member of LPF.

I always wanted to see the Avon club/Paul Darrow Appreciation Society membership card that was done as a galactic credit card. Apparently Paul Darrow provided a 'Kerr Avon' signature for it.

I was an LPF member until it closed and I joined Horizon. Still have my newsletters. I wore my LPF badge at Cygnus Alpha 4 and chatted with Janet who used to run it.

Could this be it? If yes, then I don't need to ask around here.

I got it a week or two ago from a non-B7 fan friend, who had found it among some SF stuff he got from a friend of his.
He was astonished by my reaction: "What the xxx makes you so happy over that silly card instead of all this Star Wars stuff here???" I tried to explain, but it did not arrive. The better for me as I was allowed to keep the card!

Oh Lurena, that's fantastic! We've been trying to obtain one, or a photo of one, for years!

If you could post a larger picture, I'd be very grateful.

(I always imagined the signature would be closer to Paul's own. I could always almost see 'Avon' in the way he signed 'Darrow'.)

Bunn1cula
Now thatís a signature worthy of launching a thousand graphological character analysis essays.

This is lovely, thank you for sharing!
I keep staring at the signature and thinking that Avon is real, and that's his real card.

Seriously, Paul Darrow even invented Avon's signature! Talk about building the character.

Yes, I will post a better pic for you asap.
It is a "golden" card and there's nothing on the back side. ( at least not visible, Federation technique may be different to ours Wink )
But this card does suggest proof that Kerr Avon belonged to the Alpha grade. ( at least wishful thinking by Mr D)
What do you think?

Lurena, with all of Kerr Avon's abilities in computer fraud, wouldn't you think he'd choose a platinum card for himself? Or is that just an American thing?
Zil: Oneness must resist the Host.
