Interesting. Never thought about it before but Servalan taps Egrorian in the same way Avon pats Vila...

They seemed to consciously punch up the humor aspect of the episode first as to counterpoint the very angst-ridden end of the episode.

I had the same thought and it's very clever.

Vila showing off for the girls is so adorable.

One weakness of Bob Holmes: everyone of main characters but Avon and Vila are sidelined. But less so here.

Egrorian is both play-acting with Servalan and serious, he thinks he pushed her into the corner. It's brilliant

And when Jacks bumps into the scenery and keeps going, it shows what a pro she was.

Yes the humour is used and is written really well here...it really puts you off kilter when you don't know the ending.

I love that scene and wonder if there were other, 'not televised' interactions like that? I know, it's only a tv show- but one thinks sometimes...

Ohh that long tracking shot in the bg of avon & vila talking is superbly done. must've been very difficult to do without shaking.

VILA You're thinking of Servalan again.
But he himself does it too!
AVON SHE is never far from my thoughts.

You can imagine what kind of life Pinder had with Egrorian - Egrorian throwing stuff on the floor like that. Stokgholm sindrome.

'Gross misconduct' ... I like to think that Egrogian was drummed out of university for eating choccie in the lab.

John Savident and Larry Noble were brilliant in this! You really get well-rounded characters out of them.
