41st Anniversary Rewatch - B7 Killer
trevor travis
The episode: Barney Seven – Killer (Carry On Space Michelin Men)
The date: Tuesday, May 21st, 2019
The time: 7.45pm UK time

In which we meet an “old friend” of Avon; Blake tries to stop a whole Federation colony dying from an airborne Space Plague (answers on a postcard as to how Blake, Avon and Vila avoid catching Space Plague) ; and June’s Hudson most outlandish costumes appear!

Episode in a word: Plague!
Characters to cheer: Blake is quite selfless here – he puts himself at risk to try to save Fosforon. And Dr Bellfriar is a sign that the Federation can have some quite decent people working for it.
Character to boo: Tynus turns out to be a bit of a toe-rag. Mind you, I get the idea that most of Avon’s circle of ‘friends’ are all as self-serving as each other.
Recognisable Face: Ronald Lacey (Tynus) played the Bishop Of Bath and Wells in “Blackadder II”. That involved threatening to put a red-hot poker up some rather unfortunate places, and he ended up with him in bed with Lord Percy. Oh, and a bonus in this episode. Not necessarily a recognisable ‘face’ as such, but Morris Barry (Dr Wiley, the autopsy bloke) directed a classic Doctor Who serial, “The Tomb Of The Cybermen” back in the mid-60s, before turning his hand to acting.
Is Soolin looking lovely this week?: Yes.
Best line: “When Avon holds out the hand of friendship, watch his other hand. That's the one with the hammer.”

Blake's 7 will return in… Carry On Kissing Cousins

Anyone else been having problem getting on here today?

Yes. I had a 2-3 hour blip. Well, that's how long I was trying to connect anyway. But it's back!

I will have to defer to admin for an official explanation, but I suspect an issue with our server.

Or if you prefer....

Someone tried to turn it into a newt.
It got better.

Monty Python reference out of the way for this rewatch.

I'm glad it's working again, and glad to be back for this rewatch.

Love this episode, and especially love interactions by this trio.

I'm guessing Avon's gadget worked.

Welcome back! Ronald Lacey is brilliant in this. And Vila gets a few good ones in at Avon's expense!

Evening all! Oops

Good to see that the site is working again ... Star One isn't blown up yet. While I wouldn't mind losing the connection to the website for a Moloch or a CoA rewatch, Killer is something different. Apart from everything else, I have a soft spot for this episode as it was the very first rewatch I joined five years ago.

Phew bit of a panic there...I couldn't connect for most of the day!!! But Yay, it's back. Now to get tea, biccies and choccie ready.....
Cold.....you don't know the meaning of cold.
Cold is when you have ice on the INSIDE of the window!!!

Or as more of a B7 reference, a squirrel got into the surveillance camera. Wink

Thank you! Smile

Paul Darrow is brilliant in this one too, the way he plays urgency and tension reminds me of Spacefall.
