Red Dwarf rewatch 8.8 and Back To Earth, Part 1
ClareGC
I love the whole banner/present scene, and especially how Kryten was set up. Britbox says the episode has 'rude humour', which seems quite an accurate description.
Avon: "Not enough! Not nearly enough! Dammit, what weighs seventy kilos?"
Orac: "Vila weighs seventy-three kilos, Avon."
Avon: "Vila, are you here? I need your help."

One Spare Part
Now I like the brylcream joke
"We're in the centre of a mystical convergence here."

Isn't that why we're watching?

Better level of childish humour in this one.
"We're in the centre of a mystical convergence here."

Rimmer finally makes captain...

One Spare Part
The Cat has been a bit under used / side lined in this series.

But I'm your sister! LOL

And now Rimmer is captain in our universe!

The end is nigh for Rimmer, or is it?

Love this episode in places, but it's also very disjointed.

Yesss. Though to me that sound like bad humour, or poor humour. (I'm now wondering what the rude in "in rude health" means... when I should be enjoying the rude humour!)
Avon: "Not enough! Not nearly enough! Dammit, what weighs seventy kilos?"
Orac: "Vila weighs seventy-three kilos, Avon."
Avon: "Vila, are you here? I need your help."

Alternative ending at 20.17 here:

Or it's on the extras on the DVD.

This one was meant to be a two-parter, but they ran out of money, hence the abrupt ending.

Yes, and they extended Pete into a two-parter instead.

Although odd they run out of money but made two endings...
