The episode: Albert Six – Seek-Locate-Destroy (Carry On Space Commander) The date: Tuesday, February 9th, 2021 The time: 7.45pm UK time In which we meet the arch-baddies for the first time and also a certain robot, and everyone forgets about Cally. Episode in a word: Hugbot. Characters to cheer: Supreme Commander Servalan, portrayed by the brilliant Jacqueline Pearce, is fantastic from her very first line. The scene a bit later where she first flirts then pulls rank on Rai sums up her character. And Stephen Grief ‘s Travis - complete with eye-patch - is so charismatic. Such a wonderful pair of villains, who add so much to the series. Characters to boo: Blake, Avon, Gan, Vila and Jenna. There’s a sixth humanoid member of the crew. Remember her? Obviously not. Is Soolin looking lovely this week?: Yes. Recognisable Face: The wonderful Peter Miles (Rontane) made a career out of playing bad-guy roles. He’s perhaps best-known as Nyder in the classic Doctor Who serial Genesis Of The Daleks, where he was the loyal henchmen to evil Dalek creator Davros. Best line: “There isn't a lock I can't open - if I'm scared enough.” Blake’s 7 will return in… Carry On Space Poirot |

Well, Mum, we are starting to make a name for ourselves. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing. As Great Uncle Davos used to say, ‘If you’re a famous smuggler, you’re not doing it right.’ I’m sure that applies to thieves as well, so I suggested a completely new strategy (really, an age old strategy), but Blake wasn’t having it. We’ve just stolen a cipher machine from the Feds so we can read their secret mail. Blake had a close call with a health and safety robot? I assume it was a health and safety bot as it went about removing tripping hazards like dangling cables with extreme prejudice. None of my shipmates are very observant. For instance, none of them have noticed that I keep all my trade tools in my pocket, so none of them have asked me ‘what’s in the cooler,’ meaning I don’t have to share. The Feds like to put signs on their fences that say ‘Top Security.’ I wonder who they think they are fooling. And I finally found out what Blake is bad at: Keeping watch for large, slow moving robots. Maybe it was a friendly robot, as it carried a sign that said, ‘Free Hugs,’ but why take the chance, or at the very least, don’t go first. You know who is even worse at keeping watch? Feds in their ‘I can’t see a thing in this helmet’ helmets. So, it was a straightforward heist, with the minor complication of hostages, and having to blow up the ‘vault’ so the bank wouldn’t know they were robbed. And then there was the minor complication of having to deal with a guard before he sounded the alarm. Well, you can’t win them all, can you? Still, all in all, everything went smooth and according to plan. I found a new outfit in the wardrobe, even more fashionable than the last one. I think I’ll go see what Cally thinks of this one.
