I would pair this Space City episode with Freedom City episode, Gambit. I like the complicated politics it brings to the Federation. Really gives the universe a feeling of being a bit untamed. |

I love how dangerous Orac is in his first 4-6 episodes... it's unclear for so long whether it is good for them or not: People die acquiring it, it predicts their death, and now it's attacking Cally! I like Series D but Orac is completely wasted.

It's yet another windy day here, but for some reason they're not calling it a 'storm' this time. I'm not looking forward to it. There was snow in the mountains two weeks ago and the leaves are definitely changing colour if not falling. Yuck cold winds. You don't need another big storm across the UK and Europe. Jan Chappell does the most amazing run down the side of the quarry I've ever seen at about 38m mark. Quite a tall heel and flowy robes down a very uneven and steep embankment but as sure footage as a mountain goat! Amazing she survived really |

They kind of work but I don't recall them coming back June Hudson somewhere talks about being able to get her hands on yards of fabric for them. She often designed around what she could get for a bargain. The outfits seem more likely to be inspired by all the Kung Fu shows on TV at the time, or at least earlier in the 70s. They are appropriately 'desert-y' without being desert suits, which is far more like the original comic-strip Buck Rogers. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Federation council politics, a floating Space City, a mafia, druggies, a desert planet, weird alien fungi, a rogue super computer, a trans-dimensional alien taking possession of the local telepath, a psychedelic battle of the minds, the Liberator out-of-control... The production values are very high too (well...) |
