I wish we had actually met Pora.

Apparently this episode was brought forward to cover a gap due to Pip & Jane Baker's "Death Squad" script falling through. If it had stayed as the eighth episode, the intergalactic drive reference would be closer to the final episode. Not that there's anything else in the other episodes to hint at reactions to an external threat.

Don't get technical with me, rebel!

Perhaps the caves were in a different part of Horizon?

That's a continuity blip, but there are one or two others, espeically the reference to them being on the adrenaline and soma for ages when Vila has just before been introduced to it. I still like this episode a lot because it's always pertinent. Anyone who thinks we've been "post-colonial" the last few decades is an idiot.

That sort of thing. They look like the metal base from a table we nicked from a tute room at ANU and is currently the support for the lemon tree frost cover.

Then when they couldn't find it, they could go around saying "Where is oar-rack?"

Nice to know you're on form today.

Ro, the Commissar and his Assistant are all such very plausible characters as characters: well-written. Like many a diplomatic encounter I've observed.

If it were actually after Pressure Point, that seems to make Avon's decision to leave rather different.

Not exactly banana lounges.

Dorian's cornered the market on those.

Just go, Avon!!

ORAC: we have enough concentrated food to last for 1000 years. But you can’t heat any of it in the oven because you’re wearing all the aluminium foil.

Much more. It was, as JD said, meant to be the 8th episode and the tensions would have been rising.

The blue one, presumably, not the one she's wearing in the mines?

Avon: Alright, I'll put it back. [Thinks: No I won't. I'll wear it backwards next time. That'll fool everyone!]

Clearly. I'm not even certain what they're wearing in the mines: body stockings with shell-beaded strips.

Wow, it must be warm. Roxy (the cat) has just left her sunny cat tower and found a cool spot on the floor.

And a lot of macrame.

I wish we'd seen more planets that had similar administrative set-ups, even if not referred to explicitly; where we able to see that the same uniforms in use, maybe indicating another layer of Federation involvement, not just the military.

Don't be fooled. This is only Fake Summer. We get that a lot in April these days. A couple of weeks ago it was snowing. And could again.

Yes. The fact that Ro is wearing the same thing seems to suggest that it is some sort of uniform worn by governors, or perhaps people associated with a particular school. I also wish we had seen more of this sort of set-up.

Oh yes, I know. And it might rain all July, even if it is warmer. All the more reason to enjoy it while we have it.

Well, wasn't that convenient! So the Feds on Horizon never got round to warning High Command about the barrier?

Ah yes, July, the season of continuous drizzle. Not too much, just enough to spoil anything you wanted to do outdoors.

Such lost opportunities. I know Chris Boucher was juggling a lot, but little gifts like that could have been dropped into other scripts at convenient times: the bush telegraph "Did you know?" sort of line.

Er, not yet. First snow in the Mts is usually mid-May.
