Rewatch Downunder Saturday 9th May B6 Trial
M1795537OCVirn
Starting at 7.30pm Downunder, 10.30am UK.

B6 Trial
The one where even Brian Croucher admitted he'd been 'a bit shouty'. Servalan makes good on her promise and tries to 'bury' Travis - legally. After marooning himself on a 'deserted' planet, Blake meets a lifeform that chooses self-sacrifice in order to protect its young. This is clearly something Blake doesn't understand, because it somehow galvanises him into another orgy of destruction. He attempts to destroy Federation Space Command and everyone in it, but ends up allowing Travis to escape with an agreement (unwritten, obviously) with the Supreme Commander.

This will certainly be a trial to watch!

Hi everyone, I hope you’re well.

Yes, but I’m trying to get them up the right way. LOL, how are you?

Fine, thanks. Trial, eh? Not one of Joe's favourites, by the sound of it.

Hi everyone. I hope you're all well. Don't know if I'm coming or going here. Which is a trial. I like this episode. Lots of cunning Chris Boucher word-smithing and I don't care if BC shouts at all.

Okay, so it’s five minutes past our starting time so I’m starting. I’m sure that made sense..

And now I have to eat my words. Hello, Obsidian. I quite like Trial, too. Very Boucher-y.

Even plasma bolts can be beautiful, seen in the right light, and always get the job done.

Hello everyone!

For avoidance of doubt, I think Trial is a great episode.

Thought you would. It does a lot with some very snappy lines.

Having just made some 'Pawson' Earrings, named for John Pawson, minimalist architect/designer extraordinaire, I imagine he'd love these very pared-back sets.

Thai reminds me of any number of senior public servants being grilled in Senate Estimates. She's perfect.

Servalan had been keeping the Zircaster massacre in hand, just in case she needed to frame Travis. Note that nobody suggests that the Supreme Commander had anything to do with those orders he was following. She made sure there was no record of any connection she had to the affair.

Kept up one of her capacious sleeves.

I keep looking for them as well, sans the silver tape, of course.

When Travis was introduced, we learn that he massacred hundreds on Oros/Auros. When Chris Boucher was asked why he didn't refer back to that massacre, he said he probably forgot. Or because Oros was "a bloody awful name".

I’ve finally bought the Blu Ray. I wonder what Zil‘s ‘children’ will look like.

M1795537OCVirn
That boggy place Zil calls home was probably quite smelly, and full of mosquitoes (or their equivalent).

Servalan's make-up is very schmick this week + I like the military-style outfit which is a sort-of riff on last week's outfit.

So Travis has several massacres to his name? Not good!

Perhaps Zircaster and Oros are names for the same planet, like Horizon?

Malaria is spread by mosquitos but, noticing people tended to catch malaria near swamps, and swamps smell, it was originally assumed it was the bad air that made people sick. Hence mal (bad) aria (air).

Hello everyone. Sorry I'm late. Feeling a bit under the weather and slept very badly, so trailing about a bit today.

How are all of you?

I don't recall Blake asking them if they wanted to join his crusade in the first place. They just ended up together, didn't they?

The soundscape (including ominous music) for Zil's bog is great.

Hi AnneA. Sorry to hear that. I had a rubbish night the other night (forgot to take drugs) so I know what you mean. I stayed in bed most of today.

Hope this helps wake you up.

Very Chris Boucher, these two officials commenting on the action.

Not to mention the yellow fever.
