Definitely colder and rainy today here. And there's a 100km 'Iron Man' event going right past my house today. At least they're not going to get too hot!

Blake feeding the Avon - Cally thing. That is one of the bits of this episode that work, IMO. They are clearly close, so that there is something there for Blake to build on, and to explain why Vila goes along with it. |

Long weekend here (king's b'day even though it's not until November). Why have the king's birthday in late autumn, when you could have his actual birthday in November when the weather would be better? Hi AnneA. All well? Did you meet up with Tyce? We've always had the Queen's Birthday Holiday about a week later, even though she was born in April, so the decision was not to move the holiday by much. We're now technically in winter. Yes, we had a lovely lunch in London, in a restaturant with a good view of the revamped Regents Canal. I'm OK, although a bit fed up, as it seems that there will not be enough money to pay expenses on the summer school I'm teaching on, so that I will have to find accomodation, meals and train ticket out of my salary, which I think will probably reduce it by at least a third. Sheesh. Money for the Humanities is practically non-existent these days, unless your project pays lip-service to the latest political idiocy. Poor you. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

That's not good. I attended some OU Summer Schools as a student in the olden days - in one experiment we managed to create anti-matter when our result came out negative. Money for the Humanities is non-existent full stop. This is an independent summer school because the university that used to run it ran out of money. That was two years ago - universities are shutting whole departments, and no-one cares. |

Ven Glynd appears to have gone through the same sort of reconstruction surgery as Travis did. Looks nothing like the original. As for Shivan...

Although great for cosplay by Mrs Underhill at 'Maximum Power'. Wish I'd seen Mrs Underhill. She does good costumes. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Unfortunately, the original Ven Glynd wasn't available. I think it would have lent things a bit more believability. Governor Le Grand would then look simply like a wide-eyed crazy zealot. As for the Shivan outfit, what to do? How to get Brian Croucher to change his accent? Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.
