The episode: Barney Thirteen – Star One (Carry On Space Pizza Monsters) The date: Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026 The time: 7.45pm UK time In which Travis has a really bad day; Lurena has the best-ever skincare product ever known since she doesn’t look a day older from her photo on Federation records; Avon is his usual gentlemanly self and gives Cally the primed explosives to throw over the cliff (although, having seen his attempt at running in Pressure Point, it’s perhaps the sensible option); and the Hairdryer Ship and The Cutlery Draw are involved in a big stand-off with the Libby crew. Episode in a word: Dramatic. Or climactic. Or some other word ending with “tic”. Character to cheer: Servalan, for using the oncoming Intergalactic War as an opportunity to seize the presidency. She never misses a trick. Bravo to her! Is it wrong that I like the lead villainous so much? Mind you, as far as she’s concerned, she’s the hero of her own story, maintaining law and order against that murderous terrorist, Roj Blake. Character to boo: Difficult one – everyone shines here. Probably Avon for handing Cally the explosives. Or Blake for justifying himself in such a poor way to Cally. Is Soolin looking lovely this week?: Yes. Recognisable Face: Jenny Twigge (Lurena) was Zammo’s mum in Grange Hill. As far as I’m concerned, you can’t get much more famous than that! Just Say No! Oh, and she was a guest at a Cygnus Alpha convention in 2019. Best exchange: Oooh, tricky. But… VILA: “Avon, this is stupid!” AVON: “When did that ever stop us?” Blake's 7 will return in… Carry On Doing Watersports Vote Og.

The Earth forwards have really pressed the Betafarl defense in the early going, but have yet to find the back of the net here in the opening match of this year’s Worlds Cup… …This is Lee R Pantsonfire of the Federation News Network with a special news bulletin. Earlier we reported on the wreck of the Nova Queen, blizzards on Palmero, Drought on Suni, floods on Vilka, all the Federated Worlds in crisis. And Now…. Alien Invasion. Yes, Federation forces in Sector 12 report a full fledged alien invasion of Federation Space. Details are sketchy, but we know both erstwhile and disgraced Space Commander Travis, and the rebel terrorist Blake’s Liberator, were both headed to that sector. Our listeners can draw their own conclusions and decide if Blake’s presence in the very sector in which the aliens chose to attack is coincidence, or something much darker. All available ships from Space Command are now en route to sector 12 to deal with this crisis, but this reporter has to wonder if Supreme Commander Servalan may not face disciplinary action for allowing this invasion to happen. After all, she knew full well that Blake and Travis were headed to sector 12, and that neither had the best interests of The Federation at heart, and yet she did nothing. And then there is her inability, or unwillingness to use the Fleet to help the populations of the previously mentioned Federation Worlds in crisis. Surely the president will call her to answer for her negligence one way or the…. I have just been handed a news flash. Space Command Headquarters has taken control of the government, relieving the president and high council of their duties for their inability to deal with the present crisis. … Is this confirmed?.... …. It is? … This is Lee R Pantsonfire with a special news bulletin, the aliens invading Federation Space have used… no, have allied with Roj Blake to get the renown terrorist to use his super computer Orac to broadcast false news bulletins…. Even down to… yes, impersonating the voices of actual newscasters. Yes, that’s it. We now have regained control of our broadcast frequencies, and our listeners are no doubt relieved to hear that the defense of The Federated Worlds is now in the very capable hands of Supreme Commander, and President?... Yes, President Servalan. No doubt she and Space Command will deal with these aliens forthwith, AND finally bring Roj Blake to justice. We at FNN are confident Space Command will effectively deal with this crisis…. And hopeful that given today’s events, they have been far too busy to listen to our humble news service. And if they have been listening, well, Aliens. It was the Aliens. We now return to the match, and rest assured we will be here (we hope) to break in and report on any new developments. In the meantime, all Federation Military Personnel currently on leave, should immediately return to their duties. . .  Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo! |

Not really my favourite ep, but it has fewer loose ends than some. At least Travis gets his cumuppance, although as Servalan soon discovers, he leaves a big gap.
