Hi JD, OMGosh. You are one of the people Sally, Brian and Toby were talking about. What were they saying? It's apparently the second least liked episode (after Animals). Well, I think that this episode is fine. I also like Animals. My least favourite episode is definitely Voice from the Past. |

Hi JD, OMGosh. You are one of the people Sally, Brian and Toby were talking about. What were they saying? In the commentary for this episode on Blu-ray Sally, Brian and Toby Hadoke say that this is the second most disliked episode by Blake’s Seven fans. I was very shocked because I really love it. I'm glad you told me he was Avon as I wouldn't have known (but then it's hard to imagine the real Avon dancing like that. ) I'm very impressed by the figurine made by Totter's Yard Customs. It is a very detailed figure, though small. From most angles the face is Paul Darrow to a tee. It really is amazing. You are obviously representative of the majority in not liking this episode. Interesting - for me it's not an absolute favourite, but comfortably in the top half of the series. I'm generally not a fan of SF stories involving medievel societies, and there's something about this one that grates. Having one of the characters called Rod also seems out of place (as does having a Don in 'Sand' .Like all the mush on Netflix for the last decade. Absolute schlock, all of it. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Well, I think that this episode is fine. I also like Animals. My least favourite episode is definitely Voice from the Past. I'd probably swap them – just. This episode is fine. Plus, I get enjoyment from spotting all the ethnographic items they've managed to stuff into the scenery. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

As I see it, most of the BF issues are pot-boilers to keep up the interest, so they end up being all-action shoot-em-ups written to a formula by boys. And, unfortunately, boys who wish they were writing Star Trek instead. |

Are you sure all the figures do that? The figure is Avon in a static pose. It has no moving parts. I used an app called Nauk Nauk to see how well it could retain the likeness. It mostly works, though you can't really see how well given Youtube has turned the video quality to mush. Perhaps there's a setting somewhere... What do the kids think? Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Taiellin, see you are a translator, do you know any audio translated in Russian ver. of B7? Unfortunately. B7 is not really popular in our country. We have only subtitles for tv series, a bunch of videos made by the fans and a few stories made by Russian authors. The first season was dubbed, but it was hard to find. |

I agreed even then, as a kid. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Check out the other items on offer. All overpriced but interesting in their own ways. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

I like this episode, find it very original, but I'm not a cinema expert as the most of you, actually, I don’t like movies at all - B7 is a big exception. |

Did you watch the episode on blu-ray, Obsidian? What did you think of it? I just bought the series today Joe, so I have to go watch it on the blu-ray player (I use an external drive for standard viewing) and watch the interview with Sally Knyvette to see what this stuff is about this episode being disliked. Maybe it was the chicken... Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

As a medievalist I don't object to the 'medieval society' thing - the Goths are so obviously the descendants of people who decided to go pre-industrial, and were cos-playing a 'tribal', 'dark ages' society that it's quite amusing. It would not be hard to find people who idealize such societies today, I think - and who caricature them in much the same way that the Goths do. |

A quick google, and apparently Gola sportswear is still a Thing - but less popular than it was. Oh yes. Must look through some of my old magazines (knitting, sewing) and see if it's advertised. It seems familiar. They definitely have the Kickers adverts for Vila's shoes. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.
