Hello everyone - late as usual, and I'm not even an Aussie. It's supposed to be getting cooler today, but I don't see any signs of it so far. Hi AnneA. All well? That "Omega wave" is bringing you Saharan weather. Be grateful there's no sand. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Glad they didn't chuck Servalan's frock after the series ended. It has to survive Sarran yet.

Hello everyone - late as usual, and I'm not even an Aussie. It's supposed to be getting cooler today, but I don't see any signs of it so far. Oh, come on, 23C is a lot better than 28+C yesterday. And it's going to be under 20C tomorrow. According to Star One, of course. It's still 27 degrees here, as it was yesterday. That's in the house, of course - there seems to be quite a bit of wind outside, but what's coming in seems to be a hot wind. Edited by AnneArthur on 27-06-2026 10:00 |

We're all fully leather for this episode. Mmmm. Liking it. Except that, Jenna is wearing the same get-up she wore to Goth, and when she came back from Goth she was wearing her Goth dress. Maybe the wardrobe room has multiples. Knowing it's her last ep. they'd prepare something better for a farewell. Never thought about their clothes, but I'd say her is still pretty good now. It's just a logical impossibility unless the Liberator wardrobe room contains multiples. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

I wouldn’t call Blake’s belief idealism - it is actually very practical, pragmatic, and realistic. It is as simple as: "that sort of power could corrupt anyone", therefore it must be destroyed, not used. Which reduces to disbelief in totalitarianism. In comparison, Avon’s belief in money is simply beyond discussion. |

Servalan at her best in this episode - the most capable ruler imaginable in such a situation. She might even get a vote in the next election from someone who hasn’t seen any of the other eps. Not sure she approves of 'voting'. Not unless she's 'persuaded' enough of the voters that she's the only valid candidate. I'm sure if Margaret Thatcher had her way that would have been her preferred system and, since her reign, so many others have learned from her. Iron lady. |

LOL It all fairness, I fully understand because you’re not set up for hot weather. |

It has only been 33 in York, thankfully - the house is 27 because I've been keeping it cool. |

I'm interested in all the other lights visible on Star One as they approach it. Room for some explanations there. Is each one beaming out commands? Far more complex than than Blake's empty room on Earth was imagined to be.
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Blake's impersonation of Travis - how not to think things through. He didn’t have time, he had to do the impersonation thing on the spot. |

And yes, we are not set up for heat at all - we are going to have to change that, as this sort of weather is becoming an annual occurrence. |

Vila is often too lazy to think, but when he isn’t, even Orac’s logic doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. "There is no logical reason why people should be hairy" but they are hairy, therefore no logical reason is needed for anyone to be hairy, therefore Orac is off topic. |

Do those girls really have such short memories, or has Boucher never watched Duel, where they already visited another galaxy? Did they really? TRAVIS: Blake. The other patrols have pushed him into this galaxy. I knew it, I knew it! This time I've got him.(Duel.) |

Far more complex than than Blake's empty room on Earth was imagined to be. Matt Irvine didn't know we'd have all these environmental concerns about efficient use of energy. The most interesting unresolved question for me is what guarantees the aliens gave Travis that they would bother to provide him with the opportunity to carry out the final act rather than simply kill him. |

It's the only time anyone says anything like this, and all other references suggest, as this episode does, that humanity has remained in the one galaxy. I have always assumed that Travis mis-spoke, and meant 'The other patrols have pushed him into this [sector of the] galaxy' |

The other patrols have pushed him into this galaxy. I knew it, I knew it! This time I've got him.(Duel.) Well, TN was a little flaky in his use of terminology. He refers to meteorites flying around in Space, for example, even though they don't. I don't think he did enough research or had enough understanding of Space in any real sense, or what it might mean to infer that his characters just popped over to another galaxy. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.
