 It is with a heavy heart I post that Tom Chadbon, Del Grant in Blake's 7 Countdown, and Duggen in Doctor Who's City of Death and Mysterious Planet has passed away. Peter Anghelides posted the news today on various sites and we have lost yet another wonderful actor of ours and other genres. Tom was my favorite actor and he will be missed terribly as he was a thoroughly decent man and solid actor. RIP Del, as that was my favorite portrayal, and he knew that as I told him! My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends, and co-workers. Bless. Resist the Host

Sad news. He was another of those actors who was part of my childhood and who stayed with me. A great actor. RIP

So sad I must admit that my favourite was Duggan in City of Death. He was so funny!!!!

Very sad news. It was great that as a character so many of us had wished to see so much more of that he came back for some of the audios... and he was one of the actors who truly, like Steven Pacey and Michael Keating, sounded exactly the same and really took one back and made you think that what you were listening to was an episode from 1979, (when the Big Finish writers let you). Beyond B7, another one of that generation of actors that I grew up with and am always so happy to see. Paul Darrow said in his autobiography that all an actor wants, really, is to be remembered. Tom Chadbon as Del Grant always will be.

His brilliant performance of Del Grant is what first prompted me to write fanfic. My favorite moment. Blake: If anything happens to Avon, I will come looking for youl. Tom/Grant's reaction: Yeah, that is definitely a dismissive smirk.

Shocked at this news. His superb performance as Del Grant in Countdown made it one of my favourite episodes. I always hoped that I would get to meet him at least once for an autograph at a Con. Alas, that was not meant to be. Commiserations to his family and friends. |
