Talking Pictures is re showing Out starring Tom Bell as a man released from prison determined to find out who grassed him up. It is tough stuff even now, 44 years after it was 1st shown. Yes, it was shown in the same year that brought us B7. Speaking of which and hence this post, who should pop up as support to Tom Bell's character but old Travis Mk2 himself, Brian Croucher. I couldn't see his face at 1st, just heard the voice...no mistaking that

I remember watching 'Out' on DVD about ten years ago, just because Brian Croucher is in it. He's very good, too. If I remember correctly, in one scene you briefly see Brian's bare bottom!

Just looking through the network sale and I came across a tv show called Mister Jericho. It stars Patrick Mcnee which first drew my attention but then I noticed the co-star is Paul Darrow. Don't know if anyone has heard of it or already got it but just thought I would let you know.

I’ve never seen it but I think it’s a film in which Paul plays a hotel receptionist.

The Network sale also includes StoryBoard, a series of one-off dramas which includes Making News, starring Bill Nighy, and Paul’s in that too.

Speaking of Network, they've got "Country Matters" scheduled for release later in the year. Gareth Thomas is listed as one of the actors.

I can remember watching Gideon's Way the first time round,,,yeah, I'm that old. Anyway, I was just halfway through an episode (back in the 60s) when there was a knock on the door. My Dad answered it and then decided that I really ought to go to bed.. I've no idea what as so urgent that I had to miss one of my favourite shows at the time, but for the life of me, I can't remember which episode it was that I missed! So watching it now is just great. Very well written and the acting can't be faulted. Also most of the music in it will turn up much later on in other shows created by Mr Baker and Mr Berman.

Matt Irvine's famous admission about the B7 spaceship made from hair dryers is here: click!.

It's at about 2'44". The item ends with a Federation pursuit ship being blown up (at about 6'10").

Nearly saw (was interrupted) Zulu the 1964 film in which Dr Bellfriar/ Paul Daneman co-stars. I saw his name in the opening credits and despite not knowing he was in it, I knew who he played. He looked very different, partly because his character is ill in hospital with a raging fever. My mind had stored the knowledge away unbeknownst to me. Story of my life...Grin

I have the vis-tape. Paul Darrow extending his ethnic range to being a Maltese hotel receptionist. That's after being an Egyptian in Virgin of the Secret Service and a Turkish museum curator in The Saint.

I get to see all sorts of series and movies long after the fact thanks to often being AWOL from my TV in some other country when they are televised.

Just caught the series of Sense and Sensibility, made in 2007, and Madonna's woeful W.E., from 2011. Damien Thomas – a.k.a."I'm not a Space Rat" Atlan appeared in both.

I like that version of Sense and Sensibilty but have no memory of Damien Thomas being in it. I've been looking for a reason to rewatch it...

I made my family watch “Robots of Death” from Doctor Who with me because it was written by Chris Boucher, edited by Robert Holmes, and had Brian Croucher and David Collings in it. It was also directed by Micheal E. Briant and the incidental music was by Dudley Simpson. While watching the credits, I was picking out all of these names and my family asked how in the world I knew all this; they only recognized Brian Croucher!
I have never understood why it should be necessary to become irrational to prove that you care, or indeed why it should be necessary to prove it at all.

Robots of Death was brilliant, a real standout Dr Who series. Also in RoD are Pamela Salem (Kara - Cygnus Alpha) and David Bailie (Chevner – Project Avalon). Robert Holmes was Script Editor.

One of our local channels endlessly repeats certain British crime series. We're back at Ep. 1 of Inspector Morse (The Dead of Jericho) again after a couple of years off and, for the first time, I noticed Souad Faress (Selma – Horizon) playing the small role of a hospital doctor. Morse is talking to her in the background, which is probably why I hadn't noticed her before. Pretty slack, though, as I must have seen it about 4 or 5 times before.

Hey littlesue! Don't know where you're up to in Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, but it's one of the rare occasions on which you'll see Avon's brother, David Bache. Episode S2.Ep.2 "The RAF Reunion". He's one of the blokes at the reunion – tall and fair-haired.

PS. Stuart Fell is in it too.

My family was watching Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade tonight, and before they’d even put the disk in, I announced, “You know, Julian Glover is the villain and he was in Blake’s 7!” They groaned as I proceeded to give a breakdown of, well, “Breakdown”… Smile

I was just watching Murdersville a S5 episode of The Avengers, (Steed and Mrs Peel not Ironman et al) and in the 1st 15 mins a man in dark glasses murdered someone with a shotgun. It was an uncredited Gareth Thomas. 1st time I clocked it was him. Then later, Ensor jr turned up in the museum sitting in some stocks...well, it is The Avengers, after all.

Watching At the Earth's Core on Legend. Cy Grant looks much younger in this than he did in B7, although it was only filmed 4 years earlier. In fact it's only that rich voice that gives him away as the same actor.
