Rewatch Downunder Saturday 18th May B7 Killer
M1795537OCVirn
Starting at 7.30pm Downunder, which is 10.3am UK time.

B7 Killer
In which Avon catches up with an old 'friend' - and with friends like these two, who needs enemies - while Blake discovers the source of all pandemics, ever. Probably. The girls mostly mind the house and do the washing-up, as usual.
I'm left to wonder firstly how any acquaintance of Avon ended up as a Federation Base Commander, and secondly whether Mum and Dad Belfriar ever tried to make their son understand that actions have consequences. Had they given him a timely clip round the ear now and then, we might not had to put up with all this.

"You're not sulking, I hope?"

Well the defacto Swedes are here. Where are the Aussies? Gee they’re hopeless aren’t they? LOL

M1795537OCVirn
Hi, Tyce. Or should that be Hej! Hope you are having fun over there.
Yep, Aussies aren't known for their timekeeping. Pilot's usually early, while the rest ...aren't. But we love them anyway. And it can't be easy being upside down.
What's your most memorable part of ' B7's Killer', then?
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

I'm here! I set an alarm that's how excited I am. How is everyone this evening?

Hello everyone!

Are you back home, Tyce? Or still having adventures?

Obsidian
Hi MsVirn, Hi Tyce.

The stupid dvd drive takes ages loading before I can minimise the window. Grrr.

Hope you are both well.
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Avon being teacher-y!

My screen is paused on the opening titles... the "Eliminate" scan of Blake.

Although paused as it is, it looks like a Roman tile mosaic... which really would have confused the archaeologists in Pompeii if they'd uncovered it

Mind-blowing - for both them and Blake.

1m: Written by Robert Holmes! I love how in B7 so many classic names pop up in the writers, directors, actors...

Could be a pattern for a cross stitch sampler.

2m: A rare composite shot of the actors and a futuristic building. They must have had double digit pounds to spend this episode

3m: And a fabulous model for the ancient ship. Things are looking good tonight!

Hi dodgyville. Welcome. Nice to have a newbie onboard.

Hi everyone. And yet again the calendar rolls round to my least favourite episode of Blakes 7. I actually find it quite comforting by now - I can say 'I just don't like this one' and concentrate on the more enjoyable aspects.

5m: An underground outlet pipe large enough for humans to enter into the facility -- for a second I thought Terry Nation had written this one.

All Avon's 'friends' have some kind of military background.
Tynus - base commander
Del Grant - mercenary soldier
Keiller - Presidential Security.

Add to that things like Blake asking Avon to assess the gun in Project Avalon, and Avon telling Dayna on Terminal how he would have mined the base in tandem with the ship, they probably had to take part in some kind of compulsory military training, maybe Alpha grade Officer Cadets.

Wait... they took that glass on location and put it in front of the camera?

Has Cally not operated the teleport before now? Why is she having to learn? And, yes, I would take Blake for the kind of geek who knows all there is to know about old spaceships.

You'd think that by now facility designers would have learned the dsngers of having human-size pipes.

This is true. They all seem to have knowledge about places and things that they can't have had if their lives had been more restricted like those of the lower eschelon grunts.

There was also a Bizarro 7 colouring book, but I'm probably not meant to mention Leah Rosenthal here....

They did indeed. There are filming stills of it somewhere (can't remember which book) showing it on a stand.

Well, of course. The downside of the Federation OTC is that it gives those inclined to join the resistance a head start in weaponry, tactics etc. We try to weed them out during the selection process but some still get through.
