Equity reports that Derek Smith, who played Largo in "Shadow", passed away earlier this year aged 95. RIP Derek Smith, and thanks. |

Well, that's very sad news. But it seems he had a good innings as the Brits say, so RIP and I hope he realized how popular an actor he was and especially in B7 fandom! A pro keeps it simple!

I heard this last week. Was the info somehow withheld for a time or what? He did have a good innings, even so. His Largo was definitely one of the best guest roles, so I was very sad when I heard.
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

I don't think it was withheld just that it hadn't been reported widely enough for the fans or obit writers to have picked up on it. Everywhere I'd seen it mentioned over these past few days had seemed surprised they hadn't heard about it at the time. I had the good fortune to meet him on one occasion (Cygnus Alpha 2 - 2015) and had the pleasure of chatting to him for quite a while in the green room. What a charming and fascinating man he was. May he rest in peace. "Some days are better than others, Section Leader"
