So, to celebrate the upcoming vernal equinox* and just to whip you out of your lassitude this weekend, which B7 guest character would have had most scope for a prequel/sequel spin-off series, or (failing that) a one-off special? * Or autumnal equinox, if you're in the wrong place. We took the wrong step years ago...

Should have mentioned: if you vote for the eighth option, I'll assume that means Piri, unless you specify otherwise... Edit: Actually, I've just spoken to the BBC's Commissioning Editor for Slightly Naff Drama (the same department that originally commissioned B7) and she's dead keen on a 13-part crime serial called Piri & Plaxton, revolving around baffling locked-room mysteries set in sleepy Somerset in the early 1970s. K-tel soundtrack album to feature T.Rex's 'Telegram Gan', Slade's 'My Friend Gan', Suzi Quatro's 'Gan the Gan', the Kinks' 'Gola', Pete Frampton's 'Bayban, I Love Your Way', and many, many more! Who was Ensor's dad anyway? Well might you ask. Which is precisely why he needs his own show. #BackstoryBonanza Though not as much as Dr Plaxton needs hers. In the absence of any alternative candidates, looks like the Doc's home and hosed, as far as this poll's concerned. Excellent!!! We took the wrong step years ago...

I voted Tyce/Sarkoff, but I think Bayban has equal potential.

I voted Tyce/Sarkoff, but I think Bayban has equal potential. Great choice(s), NTG. Looks like we've currently got T/S, Bayban and Dr P running neck and neck, with Piri just ahead on two. Not unhappy with that, as I'm a big fan of 'Assassin'. Absolute lol-fest. We took the wrong step years ago...

You post a lot of interesting choices, but my favorite would be Bayban. The guy is just such an interesting psychopath, you can't ignore him.

Del Grant. Liberating planets from the Federation for fun and profit. Excellent suggestion! Crikey, to accommodate all of this material we'll be needing a dedicated round-the-clock digital channel. Maybe call it '24/B7'. We took the wrong step years ago...

Egrorian You can't vote twice, eff eff ess. You can't subvert democracy like that. Oh. Silly me. Your first vote (for Piri) is the one that'll count. We took the wrong step years ago...

No, Ensor was Ensor's son. The question was who is Ensor's dad? Vote Og.

I voted for Deeta Tarrant because on watching Death Watch I remember thinking 'oh no - I want more Deeta!!' when Deeta died and wanted to know how he'd got to becoming the First Champion of Teal and what he'd done since he and Del were growing up... Obviously a spin-off sequel isn't possible, but a prequel... |

I voted for Laylan, Captain of The London. Because I like to know did he upset someone or do something wrong and was "demoted " to prison transport or was he happy doing a more mundane, easier position and if so why? What made him that way, father-mother or federation made him despair? I plan to live forever,or die trying.

Still no votes for Ensor's dad. If only you'd included Ensor's mum instead!
Vote Og.

I think more interesting than Ensor’s parents would be the referenced times when characters like Ensor, Dorian, Muller, or Egrorian were collaborating. The mad scientists of B7 or something.

So, what about the least-appealing spin-off? Space Rats, Gola, Justin. or a Waltons/Partridge Family-style serial about the Ensor clan. Actually, on second thoughts...

I think we can all agree it's the bin for Justin. There's a man for whom 'straight to video' would have been an utterly deserved and, from the viewer's perspective, entirely welcome fate.

Krantor! Or more specifically Freedom City. A rat hole city on the border between the Federation and another warlord empire, Freedom City attracts criminals, thrill-seekers and rebels. The city must balance the demands of the federation against those of the warlord while trying to preserve its own freedom, often for people who don't deserve it. |

I think Justin's back story would be the least popular. Mr. Creepy. There's some good dialogue in that episode but it is really rough otherwise |
