We need Bluey and his expertise in spin cycles to get us back to the ship! (where I'm wondering if Lorna has made the upgrade to the ship that I requested  )Sorry I dont know where that request went. What upgrade do you require? It probably involves shower rooms and interrogation tables... Lorna, the upgrade that I requested from you Huggy kindly incorporated in episode 998, along with the predicted result that it would have on Boaty. Unfortunately, after episode 999, I'm not sure if I should have suggested the upgrade

We're counting down to Z. What could Z be? When Lorna commented that we are "very near the big reveal in 4 episodes time", I thought I could do a little countdown with a Babylon 5 reference. Originally Z stood for Z'ha'dum, but in this case you can interpret it as 'zany reveal'. By the way, Lorna, who told you there will be a reveal in episode 1000? Do you have Auron ancestors? Episode 1000 is again a two-parter. (Unfortunately, the colours in the last panel ae a bit off; I can never get them right when I try something like this.) Episode 1000 page 1 Episode 1000 page 2 |

Fantastic! What a great idea for a milestone episode. the breaking of the fourth wall. And a great - and poignant - gag at the end. I have to say, I really, really like the ball in the first instalment. The colour and colouring is excellent. The big question is -- will there be an episode 1001? |

Thank you all for your kind words and congratulations to episode 1000! It's good to see that I could make you laugh with my idea. Will there be episode 1001? Of course! After all, there is still a T rex lurking in a pocket universe under Boaty's hat! The strip is now planned up to episode 1034 and drawn up to no. 1007. However, there will be no direct continuation of no. 1000 as that would completely alter the nature of the strip (and exceed my artistic abilities). The fourth wall has been repaired, and our heroes have blissfully forgotten the event. So, here we go again: Episode 1001 (And the obvious Blackadder reference will follow soon.) |

Ah, a proper TV set. One you can whack on the side if you have any problems with it and it will work again! I remember watching Silent Running yonks ago at a friend's. Suddenly, another guy said, 'Wait a moment – why is the guy suddenly wearing a green uniform? Hadn't it been blue?' In response, the owner of the TV set got up, walked towards the telly without saying a word, deftly applied a karate chop to the side of the device, and lo and behold!, the uniform was blue again. (And that was a PAL system, not NTSC!) |

(And that was a PAL system, not NTSC!) The last TV I had that it worked upon was the flat-screen portable TV I bought shortly before I went to uni. It served me well over 20 years but then the vertical hold started to go (would have been around 10 to 15 years ago). However, a slap on the right place on the side would fix it. I was well chuffed that worked - we had another 3 TVs in the house, but they were all too modern for that. First time I'd been to whack a TV set in a long time! These days, most appliances can be fixed by turning them off and turning them back on again. I miss not being able to whack them
