Yay! I've actually broken one of the walls of the panel - a proper fourth wall break. Very clever mini-story this one.

Can't we just leave Boaty where he is, and recruit his cousin, Boaty McStannis, as a replacement. I've heard she's a much better pilot.

I hope it doesn't rain. He might drown. Say, that's an idea! If we pump water into the gutter, perhaps he'll float up?

Joe called it!

Although he didn't realise Huggy would be adding in a bootstrap paradox in another extremely clever episode. I'm getting worried Boaty is starting to show some signs of intelligence and that something went wrong when he was cloned.

Great stuff!

I was worried when I saw Boaty hurtling out at speed towards that dangerous-looking drill contraption, but he seems okay at the end.

Perhaps he's been replaced by a robot assassin and the real Boaty is being held captive somewhere, surrounded by zombies, awaiting rescue by the intrepid TT.

Phew! Boaty back to normal.

Is that the story of the green splodge over, or will it appear again?

And it's now Brad predicting the following strip. Spooky! Grin

PS Agreed. No weapon forged is a match for Paula's Welsh Street Sign. But I also point to you Season 2 Episode 14 of BTVS and how Buffy dealt with the Judge:

I wonder if a certain Colonel will come in, sample the mix of spices and decide to nick the combination for his fried chicken outlet.

Are you sure? I can't remember ever having drawn that rocket launcher. Having never seen the show, I usually depict her wielding a water pistol filled with holy water.

The rocket launcher isn't her usual modus operandi. But it turns up again five seasons later, suggesting it's among her range of weapons.

The Slayer has got a nice wooden trunk on our ship, containing all her weapons. Including wooden stakes, since that's what she uses the most. We're sorted in case we ever have a vampire attack.

Men of Harlech cease your dreaming
Don't you see the street signs gleaming
See poor TT's head a bleeding
On this battlefield.

Full story for the uninitiated, we were in Harlech on our way to visit the castle, thanks to Spaceship Dispatcher so kindly volunteering to take us 'non driving in Britain American tourists' (and TT) to the castle. Between the car park and the castle, TT baited Paula with a disparaging remark about Del Grant, turned to grin at Paula, and turned back right into... you guessed it... a Welsh street sign that left (and I am NOT kidding) a B7 logo shaped scrape on his forehead. Thus was born the legend of Paula and her Welsh street sign, and yes, Paula and I both have Welsh ancestry.

No, they didn't make a musical out of the cloned sheep story, but at least the film features a young Michael Crawford as Cornelius Hackel, long before Phantom of the Opera and other hits.

I always liked Frank Jacobs parody in MAD magazine, with its distinctly New York/Jewish anchoring.

"Hello deli,
This is Joe, deli,
Will you please send up a nice corned beef on rye?
A box of Ritz, Deli.
And some Schlitz, deli.
Chopped liver and a sliver of your apple pie.
Turkey legs, deli,
Hard boiled eggs, deli,
With tomatoes and potatoes you french fry.
Oh don't be late, deli.
You know I can't just wait, deli.
Deli, without breakfast I will die."

I'll let that one pass as I'm a big fan of pickled ginger on sushi whenever I have it. And also TT got a massive konk on the head in the comic. Made me laugh and laugh! <evil grin>

"TT enters the mess. TT makes it an even bigger mess."

I love the panel borders for the flashback, plus the extremely comical 'sign wedged in helmet' (or cranium). It's okay for cartoons to do things in an over-the-top manner.

Thank you for your positive reactions! Given how I handled the characters, I wasn't quite sure if it would go down well. I'm glad that you are all good sports!

Thanks. I also tried to make the flashback banels black-and-white in Babylon 5 flashback style, but that made the sushi look rather boring, so I just desaturated the colours. If you zoom in close enough, you can see that both Ellen and I have two salmon maki, one prawn nigiri and a California inside-out roll.
