The original Groucho!

I love it. We are such avid Marx Brothers fans! Never thought I'd see the Brothers in your cartoon strip! Honk! Honk! Make that three hard boiled eggs, and one duck egg! (If you don't get that please watch A Night at the Opera, the stateroom scene- classic.)

And yes, our cockatoo Groucho was named after Groucho Marx because of his temperament, and how he walks, in a sort of stooped over manner like Groucho always did in the films. <grin>

I also frequently quote Lenin... John Lenin.

(I have to admit that I stole the gag. About 50 years ago, the joke page of the leading German TV guide showed a fake ad for burnt and oversalted instant soup with the same reasoning as in this strip. Instead of plagiarism, you can also see it as an homage: the gag was just too good to let it slip into obscurity.)

Is it fish soup? I only ask because that chef sounds like he must be a Poissonnier.

Also, does the big head chef look after preparing Pringles-based dishes? Or is that left to the little sous-chef?

While his family name is that of a Finnish artist, the second part look decidedly un-Finnish. Maybe, like Tove Jansson, he is part Swedish.
To add to the confusion: In the German dub of the Muppets Show, the Swedish chef became a Danish chef.

Paula, it's even worse if you imagine the person eating it sitting there with a mouthful of hair hanging out.
