What a strange line to end on - 'And I'm very annoyed'. Doesn't do anything for me.
The second half is just as weird, and even violent, but all ends well. It has to - it's BBC Children, Christmas...can't not have a happy (if slightly bemused) ending.

Obviously better than twee. It's a a dastardly plot - the playback is so bad because the BBC want us to buy their remastered version for £20. See Amazon for details.

Well worth rushing back from Oxford for. Though I can't quite pin down why.

oh dear, you are all going to kill me. I have just located all 6 episodes of Bof D on archive.org in great nick, visually and audio-ally.
That's what happens when you put me in charge. I will alter the details for part 2 and I will change the link on here for AA.

Maybe it's just me but struggling with a creaky old version somehow added to the entertainment value of the evening. Something about battling with adversity. Very British.

Well, rather late to the party, but I enjoyed that, despite the appalling quality of the recording. Suitably weird and folklore-ish.

Rather surprised that no-one commented on everyone's relaxed attitude to a small girl going off with strangers and being away overnight. I can just about get my head round Kay's guardian taking off like that, as the house is full of servants (although that maid seemed more child-like than the children) but nowadays if a child went missing like that they'd have been turning the whole countryside upside down after half an hour!

Looking forward to Thursday, though.
