The original story makes great play of the 'linen face'. We don't really get that here

I think it would have been hard to do on el cheapo productions.

Oh I agree. But it's the scariest bit of the original story, I think - even though it'd definitely NOT transpose well to the screen

I actually think next week's MRJ is the best - A Warning to the Curious.

Intriguing titles they all have.

Almost as if they assumed the audience already knew the story.

I can see why you'd think that. I find your lack of faith disturbing...oops wrong film. I liked the lack of knowing what was going on when I 1st watched it. But I was aware of a myth based on blowing a pipe, something mythological...

We all know 'The Tractate Middoth' is the best one

Too true. The 2010 version with John Hurt was good enough, probably scary / scarier in some ways but the ending was a fkn travesty.

The Templars have been overworked, I think. It's years since I read the original story, but I don't really see the Templar angle there. I'm mean mysterious whistles weren't their thing at all.

Templars are super-flexible, though. You can trowel literally any old nonsense onto them and they never complain!

Okey dokey! That was a goodie. And more where that came from.

Please don't have nightmares. Do sleep well. Even though we've just shown you lots of nasty crimes.

Until the next witching hour...

We need some assertive Templar scholars to stand up and say 'This is rubbish'.

People aren't listening. They love that pseudohistorical babble.
