Last week, I forgot to post the thread until almost the last moment. I nearly missed the deadline....I think I was swigging out of Gene's hipflask...

The Daily Motion link is below but we all know it's on the iplayer. I'll be using my dvd boxset. Old skool.

"My name is Sam Tyler. I had an accident and I woke up in 1973. Am I mad? In a coma? Or back in time? Whatever's happened, it's like I've landed on a different planet. Now maybe if I can work out the reason, I can get home."

It was around. Hadn't then got the level of publicity or the popularity it got later

Hi, Anne. There's a series 2 when we've finished this lot.

Are you saying you want to watch series 2?

Strange but true: I had no idea what drugs there were, but I knew where to get 'them'. I'd listened in to a conversation between two of the 'naughty' girls at my grammar school!

Yes, I'd be really interested.

Whereas I had heard of them but had no idea where to get them. Still don't.

And I had no idea what to do with them.

I think we're lucky to be ignorant of them.

Come on, Sam. You've only got tonight and next week to wake up Unless they keep you asleep for the second series as well.

I don't know if it's just the tension at the end of the last episode, but this one feels a bit underwhelming.

It's not on the same level as last week's episode. Quite sombre.

Absolutely. I suppose most of us have had times when an easy way out of everything might have been tempting.

Curlers!! My mum used them. (Didn't make much difference though).

Yes definitely sombre tonight. No cheeky jokes and no spirit lifting music. And no, Peters and Lee don't count.

Over the weeks we've been sold the idea of this team. They're not perfect but those were the times and it was funny. Now they are in peril from one of their own.

Funny? you have a strange idea of humour, OSP! It's mostly been sad and/or nasty.*
Most police work is, apparently.

*But so well played.

Only Nina Simone could finish an episode like that.

Great writing, continuity that works, people that do their job = great series.
