I was waiting for Avalon to appear.

You're thinking of Le Morte d'Arthur

I need more Avon. And king Richard wasn't here at all. Will he return in the last episode?

His story is usually a 'turns up in the nick of time' one.

Ah, yes. I should have remembered that.

This could be her encore - le morte de Robin in the Hood.

Well, we're half-way through it. And the last ep has to be the melodramatic bit about him firing the arrow out of the window (and hits the Sherriff of Nottingham again*) so they're going to have to fit an awful lot into the next two,

* Taiellin - it's from '1066 and all that' again.

I was waiting for Kasabi, Ro and Bayban - not necessarily in that order.

M1795537OCVirn
King Richard is off crusading - he's not going to get back in three weeks. Don't think you'll be seeing him again.

Alas methinks Robin is not long for this world. No chance of him dying in old age. Wonder if Marion ends up in a nunnery?

The show's definitely picking up a bit of pace now

Death to the Normans! (who were Vikings anyway), and death to the Saxons (plus Angles, Jutes etc) as well. Southerners, the lot of 'em.

It is sad.

And when he gets back, he looks like Sean Connery. Or Sean Nunnery

It is the only history of England written for the consolation of the reader, and contains only two dates.

And Breakfast at Tiffany's. Though it could have done with a bit more medieval content

And the Errol Flynn one. And all 143 episodes of the Richard Greene TV series (the one with the right tune).

It's a funny parody of English history as it used to be taught in schools. It was actually not that unlike our primary school history, except that ours was Scottish.

Yes, possibly - most of my ancestors seem to have come from Fife or Angus (apart from the Irish ones, and one lot from Berkshire).

It was very enjoyable. And it did give you some of the legends, and also a timeline which helped a lot with later history.
