Hello everyone, by the way. Sorry to hear about your problems with the car, Ms Virn - hope it is sorted out soon. Thanks. "You're not sulking, I hope?"

Avon being Avon all over again. Great stuff. I thonk he is great as the sherriff Is that a variant past participle (obsolete, 17th century)? Or a typo? Or a type-OSP as they're now known. |

Nice to see a bit of colour in the clothes. I have been watching 'King and Conqueror' and although these are the elite of two realms, they certainly don't dress like it. The Godwins in particular turned up for Edward the Confessor's coronation looking like they had been dragged through six hedges backwards - no wonder he exiled them. Such an insult. |

Am I right in thinking there was a 3rd brother? Got Arthur in my head but I may be mixing it up with Henry 8's brother. There was a William, who died as a child, Henry the Young King who died in 1183 and Geoffrey, Duke of Brittany, who died in 1186. Arthur was Geoffrey's son. Aha! Ho ho! Hee hee! Also three daughters: Matilda, Duchess of Saxony, Eleanor, Queen of Castile and Joan, Queen of Sicily. |

This episode is penultimate. It is a pity that we won't be able to learn more about Robin's life as a robber. |

How do you rate it? It's had poor reviews. Having read the reviews, I was surprised that I quite enjoyed it - it's hokum, but entertaining hokum. You can play medieval bingo with it rather well: the kings wear the sort of leather armour their grooms would have turned their noses up at, a battle always comes down to a duel between the two main characters, a nobleman (in this case the Count of Flanders) is evidently too poor to afford servants, as he shaves himself and even does his own cooking, etc. Also it was filmed in Iceland, so there are loads of cute Icelandic horses, tolting their little hearts out all over the place - which is definitely a Good Thing. |

Will Robin and Marian have a happy ending? Unlikely. This isn't an American series. Brits prefer gritty and realistic. "You're not sulking, I hope?"
