Thursday 18th September - A 'Dust' Compilation
M1795537OCVirn
Start time: 7,45pm (BST)

'DUST', on YouTube, is a curated narrative short film channel. We have a thriving community of storytellers, working together to present thought-provoking science fiction stories.

Tonight's selection: I've gone for fun rather than hard-hitting, but there's plenty of that on DUST for anther time if you want it. Spoilers are avaiable in the descriptions below each film on YT. It's also worth checking out the filmmakers, who often explain how (and why) they made the film.

The Give and Take https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JS8f2...S8f2cTv8dk (about 9 minutes)

Alternative Math https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh3Yz...h3Yz3PiXZw (about 10 minutes)

Sorry, OSP, I know I chose this before, but it's still my favourite DUST.
Einstein-Rosen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMZbi...MZbig5t8Ug (about 9 mins)

And for fans of Timothy Spall:
DON'T USE THIS LINK - OSP SAYS IT'S BROKEN. Use the one below instead. And tell me if you can see any difference in them!!
This time away https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIKa...IKaRigsL44 (about 13 mins)

Another good thing about watching DUST films, is that once you do, YT often flags up similar SF shorts by other makers, on other channels. There's lots more to go at!

You don't have to do the hard sell for me! These Dust films are right up my street. They get the little grey cells working...
And I don't mind a rewatch of a rewatch, either. Grin

As my favourite detective in my favourite film would say: “now you have accidentally said something valuable.”Smile

You won’t see me for DUST. I've an appointment with upright sarsens this week and, next, will be out of the country. M1 introduced me to DUST during lockdown. You’d have thought we had enough respiratory challenges to deal with. Actually, it’s clearly very good and rewardingly random, if a bit harrowing at times for a lightweight like me.

Roll on, October, for another descent into Thursday Evening Rewatch Madness. A new TERM, if you will.

I'm not saying my link will work...but it did for me.

Evenin' all. Isn't it quiet without CB? Hope he's not getting too wet, wherever he's molesting sarcens (again).
Meanwhile, I suggest opening all four links, so that you don't have to keep going back to look for them, then pausing all but the first...and so on.

Sadly I am watching them on the big screen. I'll try not to tarry.

Although I'd fetch my laptop if I thought we were waiting for all to show up...

Yours worked for me as well, but so did the second version of mine. Now I can watch it in stereo.
(Seriously, can you see anything different between the codes on 'my' link????)

Hello!

M1795537OCVirn
HI, OSP. Not sure if anyone else will show up, so perhaps we should start.

Great - STARTING!

Just one thing I am interested in. Was it expensive? Was her bill high when she spoke with that guy?

M1795537OCVirn
What did you think? I love the way DUST filmmakers aren't afraid of using children in their stuff. So miuch more variety.

Her mum will get angry again. I am sorry for Amy.

That was good. I liked it. I hope that Amy and her new friend will meet some day and speak again.
Still this question bothered me. I don't want Amy's mum to be angry again.

M'virn do you know how Dust started?

Yeah, I know the next one. Alternative Math was translated into Russian, and my father watched it a couple of times.

Nope. Maybe we should ask them?

It's scary in its honesty about post-modernist 'right' and 'wrong'!
