The show: SPACE:1999 The time: 7.45pm Episode: BREAKAWAY This year marks the 50th anniversary of the televising of SPACE:1999. The 1st episode was shown (in some areas) on 13th September 1975. Commander John Koenig takes over control of Moonbase Alpha. There's trouble on the moon and Koenig is the man sent to find out what's happening. As Lynyrd Skynyrd once said: "there's things going on that you don't know". But it's a cracking opener, if you don't get caught up in the scientific reality (or lack thereof) of the event. The whole of series 1 is on the link. Loving the slow-motion slow-motion fighting (the effect of low gravity on a 'normal' TV fight). "You're not sulking, I hope?"
