It's a combined movie theatre and laundrette... It's two not very good ideas combined to try and come up with something... what would B7 people look like as Pixar animations + an old idea I had about an Aussie version of B7. Please tell me if the likenesses look okay or not... I am too close to it. Gareth, definitely not, JP's likeness is in there I think (but maybe it's my imagination), but I think PD looks like him (or at least, enough like him that you can see it). But... "Tell him he's dreaming!" |

Jaqueline Pearce looks fantastic. Paul Darrow is good, the likeness is definitely there. I still think Gareth Thomas is immediately recognizable. This was absolute hilarious, though. I’m going to have to show it to my brothers, because they will be MUCH amused. The Blake’s 7 section of my blog, where I post fics, art, essays, etcetera.

All I can say, Joe, is: "Is your name not Bruce, then?" In my best impression of Monty Python... "This is the wattle, the symbol of our land, you can put it in a bottle, you can hold it in your hand. Amen, Bruce...." Hilarious start to the Advent calendar.

I probably got only half of the jokes hidden in your post, Joe. I looked up Bluey but I fear there are even more Australian in-jokes. Nonetheless, that was a really funny start tot he Advent calendar! Many thanks! Please tell me if the likenesses look okay or not... Gareth, definitely not, JP's likeness is in there I think (but maybe it's my imagination), but I think PD looks like him. PD is spot on. For me, your version of Gareth has even a greater likeness than your version of Jacs; although this may just be due to the hairdo (or to something being wrong with my brain). By the way, some time ago I stumbled upon an ad vor a Harry Potter-themed computer game with a character that looked more like Blake than Harry P.: Oh, and by the way, in the Blake's 7 Cats thread, you posted the following: Coincidentally, from something I'm working on... Was this from the same Pixar-type B7 version? |

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Huggy, that Harry Potter image is uncannily like Gareth. Was this from the same Pixar-type B7 version? That's from another idea I'm working on that isn't coming together. I won't say too much but let's just say "B7 characters as animals". I'm starting to think I might need to find an artist who can draw it for me. It's an idea that has become increasingly more ambitious in my head. If I can actually produce what I'm imagining, then I will be in touch Huggy as I would love your involvement with part of it. But that's a long way down the track - and may never happen. |

I took some time off yesterday to solve your puzzle, Tyce. Thanks for the brief respite. Although maybe I'm not the worthiest of B7 fans as I had to look up a few of the word. And does anyone has a tip on how to remove felt-tip ink from a TFT monitor? |

Tyce, your crossword is brilliant! I have some of the answers, but not all of them. If anyone wants to put their heads together, that's a good way to get lice. Here's what I've got so far: ACROSS 1. Best TV show ever! 😊 (Spell out number) (6,5) TRICK QUESTION - 'BENNY HILL' DOESN'T HAVE A NUMBER 7. Bellfriar jokes with his assistant that in 20 minutes he could be shaking hands with one of these. A FORMER PRIME MINISTER (OR LETTUCE - HENCE "LETTUCE SHAKE HANDS") 8. Chief of the Hommiks. (4,3) BORIS JOHNSON 9. She worked for Justice Department. It was her idea to destroy Blake’s credibility and get him sentenced by using ‘mental implantation’. ANGELA MERKLE 16. Wife of the chief of the Hommiks. ANGELA MERKLE 20. He created and played elaborate games; often with his computer Gambit. BILL GATES 22. Leader of the space rats. BORIS JOHNSON 23. Servalan threatens to send Travis to a slave pit on this planet. BARNSLEY 25. Vila wishes he could bottle it. (9,3,4) BATH WATER DOWN 2. When it comes to computers, he's the number two man in the Federated worlds. (Last name only.) JOHNSON 3. She’s been told she’s sexiest officer ever. ANGELA MERKLE 6. Leader of the inhabitants of Keezarn. BORIS JOHNSON 10. Wonderful Welsh actor. (6,6) BORIS JOHNSON 12. They may copy life. They may not create new forms. (Only one not plural.) MP'S EXPENSES 14. Criminal organisation whose biggest profits come from the addictive drug Shadow. (5,6) <INSERT POLITICAL PARTY OF YOUR CHOOSING HERE> 18. Original name of the mutoid under Travis command in Duel. LORD BUCKETHEAD 19. First name of actor who plays the computer genius who tried to embezzle millions of credits from the Federation's banking system. BORIS 21. A planet discussed as a possible source of treatment for Gan's malfunctioning limiter but ruled out on the grounds that they only had ‘third level technology’. BARNSLEY 24. Vila described him as "straightforward". (Last name only). N/A |

I’m very sorry to Tyce, but I created my own crossword a couple of weeks ago and didn’t have time to do something else. Not a problen at all NerdyTeenGirl. I'm always up for a crossword particularly a B7 one. I've never used a crossword program to create mine, I tried several years ago when I started creating them but they never seem to be complex enough for me, so I create my crosswords by hand. But as I say I'm always up for a crossword, I enjoyed doing yours. Edited by Tyce on 04-12-2023 22:46 |

Finally stopped running around like hairy Og and found 5 minutes to look at other people's posts...... Oh Joe, you have to be kidding!! Esmy Watson as Jenna!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. What did Jenna ever do to you!! I must confess I'm wondering how many people on Horizon even know who Esmy Watson is?? I love the Aussie take - in particularly love the New South Welshman. Living here, it's easy to forget (or at least not think about the fact) that NSW has a UK origin. Eventhough it's right there in the name - it's ours now (if you know what I mean). Edited by Tyce on 04-12-2023 22:47 |

It's time we knew! Here in Federation Archives we like to keep an eye on what you rebels are thinking. In particular, we’d be interested to know what’s happening Your words are meaningless to me. Who is are the rebels? I won't help you. You can't force me to help you. I'll die before I tell anybody anything. |

@NTG: No need to apologise - these things happen. Even if two consecutive entries fall in the same category, they are nonetheless individual contributions as we all have our different styles. This way, I got another brief respite from your contribution. And this time, I could fill in the puzzle with my keyboard instead of writing on the screen... @Paula: It wouldn't be a proper Advent season without Uncle Vila's groaners! I was already looking forward to a bucketful of terrible, terrible jokes, and I was not disappointed. Brad, you have my sympathies. |

Both crossword puzzles are excellent! NTG, you know the expression "great minds think alike"? This simply confirms you have a great mind! Paula, Paula, Paula! What can I say? (Well, quite a lot as usual but I meant about your trib). Love the subordinate clauses joke, but the best one has to be the naughty/'not E' pun. As I shall doubtlessly steal it, here's one in return: What do you call a teacher who is always late for school? Mr. Bus |

It's a combined movie theatre and laundrette... Dubbo... Hysterical Joe. But I think perhaps some knowledge of Dubbo is required. Roj Drongo A slim, young, Special Branch-y Paul Darrow with specs... I think they're great likenesses. And the story line is great. Love all the Sheilas and Bluey as the Gestalt. Would love to know what you were smoking because I could do with some. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Ah, what a great start of the Advent calendar! I have to confess that I haven't got time to solve the puzzles, but I will certainly do as soon as I can as I am very fond of puzzles, crosswords as well as all kinds of puzzles. Also I have only read the first three of Paula's jokes and save the others for tomorrow, just to have a good laugh to look forward to after a hard day of work. I have an enormous admiration for Joe's creativity, but I still need to find out about some Aussie in-jokes, a research that I like to do. The likeness of PD looks the best to me, and like Hugbot said, it may be the Jacks' hairdo that gives me doubt. All together nice surprises behind the first 5 doors! *No, I am not. I am not expendable, I'm not stupid, and I'm not going.*

Oh Wow. I've just caught up what with life and things like that. Waiting return phone calls, seeing Doctors, trying to make room for the new heating system. The chaps need to get into the bedrooms to check the radiators. "What, all of them?" I cried. Anyway, Paula...very cringworthy, kindly leave the stage! Crossword puzzles galore...I think I will have to cheat, sorry. And now mazes...I once got stuck in one, so that brought back nightmares! Thank you Huggy. BTW, when will TT explain everything??? That was brilliant, Brad! I love how you really threw yourself into it with gusto. Also, the lyrics were really good and fit so well. That's always tough to do but you nailed it. I kept waiting for Paula to burst in - "Honey, what is going on in here?!?" - or even a cut to her tied to a tree, but I suppose there is only so far you can go in the pursuit (ship) of art. Bravo! |
