Disaster movies? When you've watched one, you've watched them all.

Rats. It''s not free to watch.

Personally, don't fancy stuff for kids atm. But would probably go along with the majority.

I'd go for Cadfael, myself.

Be nice to see something with a bit of jeopardy in it. Sure V isn't on internet archive? Let's all look for something then reconvene later.

Jossy's Giants is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOMvS...OMvS0vwUk4

All in one go, but the individual titles are there. It would take 5 weeks (10 episodes). I would watch by DVD.

A grab bag of grist for your mill, as you seem to be struggling for common ground:

You’re missing out if you don’t know the great Brian Clemens’ excellent 1970s ‘Thriller’ series (NOT the same as ‘Armchair Thriller’, though that’s a possible too). Lots of good ones to choose from, loads of famous faces, the odd B7 alumnus, even a whodunnit set in a library called ‘File It Under Fear’ with Maureen Lipman/John LeMesurier.

As there’s an ‘r’ in the month, as well as in 'rewatch':

Ripping Yarns
Randall & Hopkirk
Rock Follies

Roman stuff – i.e. I, Claudius. Let’s call it I.E. Claudius. Brian B as Aug, of course.
Retro kids’ stuff (though I see above that M1’s not keen): clutch of creepy ‘classics’ still untouched e.g. ‘The Witches and the Grinnygog’ (Pat Hayes, Adam Woodyatt - never seen it, though), the spooky ‘Clifton House Mystery’, the Survivors-like/lite ‘The Changes’, the the-one-everyone-always-used-to-bang-on-about one ‘The Owl Service’ etc

Could go down the classic comedy route if you need a chortle, but perhaps with an oblique touch e.g. the Porridge follow-up ‘Going Straight' (with a young Nick Lyndhurst etc)

Joan Hickson 'Miss Marple' (pretty much any one will do)

More ‘Champions’ (pick up where we left off in 2024)

First series of ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ (with Captain Pike in ‘Saturday Kitchen’ mode) is on itvx

Traditional futile mention of the laughably underrated ‘Ashes to Ashes’ (exceptional chemistry between Phil G & Keeley Hawes, plus a very acceptable soundtrack)

Plus 'The Court Jester', of course, though that maybe a 'Crud Club's Night Off' Wednesday job

Great ideas, CB!
I wanted to suggest I, Claudius, but couldn't find it avaialble free anywhere. Was I mistaken? That'd be my first choice.
Ripping Yarns would be a great follow-up to Hyperdrive, although it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Palfreys all round!
While Joan Hickson's Miss Marple is probably the least boring of that particular genre, I wouldn't mind not watching it again.
Haven't seen any of ST:SNW, so that's possible, although I gather it's not widely loved. The Champions might be OK if we can't think of anything else.
We've recently been given the complete Mork and Mindy...previous owner didn't want it in the house a moment longer. Free to good home.
If this decision process goes on much longer we might need to instigate a POLL, and you know what I think about those.

Some nice suggestions there CB, but OSP will consider the above to be fighting talk Grin She hates ATA as much as she loves LOM Wink

I'm around for another 3-5 weeks before I disappear once more for the summer months. I would like to do one more set of re-watches with OSP, M Boss, AA et al before then, but happy to go along with the common consensus. My vote is for Jossy's Giants, written by the legendary Sid Waddell

PS Intrigued about Ripping Yarns. Never actually watched it. Are all 9 episodes online somewhere?

I Claudius is on internet archive! As is Ripping Yarns! Get your footie shorts out! Might be able to find the odd episode of Miss Marple (JH) on youtube or similar.

Star Trek in any form is great but since some of the best episodes involve 'story arcs', we might get bogged down for our Thursday jaunts.

However, we may have an interim plan if only to give us more time to decide...

Who's up for Ripping Yarns as an interim rewatch for the next few weeks?

Nine episodes - we catch watch 2/2/2/3 or 2/2/2/2/1.

Nice suggestion CB - something I should have watched a long time ago, but never have.

RY does, rather neatly, offer a football-themed ep for TT (Golden Gordon), an edukashun-themed ep for AA (Tomkinson's Schooldays), a 'professional northerner' episode for M1 (Eric Olthwaite), a country house murder ep for OSP (Moorstones Manor) and whimsical Whinfrey for me. Still leaves four more eps up for adoption... Step up, people!

Happy to watch RY whenever/however 'the Committee' decide to schedule/slice-and-dice it. Sounds like they may have something else up their sleeve, though...

M1795537OCVirn
Ripping Yarns, please!

I learned from Blake, who learned from Travis - get in first! Another win for the Federation.
