If that's what you think marriage is like, Harrison F did well to get away.

He doesn't know what he's missed!

And so to the inevitable question - what do we rewatch next week?

Yes. The first couple of episodes were really good though.

Try the film version. Maybe the balance of the story works better for you in the shorter version.

I was just thinking that! I think watching the whole thing through from start to finish would work a lot better. Today I know I just wasn't in the mood for it.

The Prisoner? Or not sci-fi enough?

It's called the Quatermass conclusion.

Thanks for suggesting these, anyway - I'd heard a lot about them, but never seen them. And I did enjoy them.

Have a good evening!

The Prisoner is ok, a bit weird and it went on much too long, but I can cope with it.
I've recently remembered there was 'V'. Terrified me back then. Well, some bits did. A bit gruesome, but so was Q. Also very long. and very American. Maybe one day?

Which boss are you talking about?

Oh, I see, you've all gone and left me. Well, good night. Thanks for Q, OSP. Great choice.

Did you give up on the idea of 'Moondial'?

Other suggestions from a few months ago included the Roger Corman/Poe films, MR James ghost stories, and selective Trek (i.e. tribble-free). You're welcome.

Couldn't find anywhere to watch Moondial for free. Selective Trek would be OK. Not really into Poe or ghosty things. Lots more DUST to go at!!

What on earth is the matter with tribbles? That's two brilliant episodes of Star Trek, IMO.

Personally, AA, I have absolutely no trouble with tribbles. Others of this parish seem to have serious tribble trouble, on the other hand. In fact, they had a bit of a meltdown about it, IIRC!

OK, Tribbles next then? A bit of classic ST might do us all good - give us a laugh anyway.

That's only a suggestion - I don't decide what comes next. This isn't (quite) a dictatorship. We usually come to some sort of group decision, I think. Maybe we should try to decide by doing one of those polls on here, where nobody ever votes, but there are lots of posts saying why they haven't bothered to vote - which are much more interesting than the thing we were voting about (or not).
That's still only a suggestion, by the way.

OK - I'll say it... Someone's got to. Let's have a poll about whether we should run a poll.

So (ignoring all the usual blibbling that goes on while we make a decision) we are watching some classic Star Trek eps? Should we each choose a "fave"?
AA seems to have started with The Trouble with Tribbles...

I'll chuck in a Trek selection which might help future ruminations (no particular order):

- City on the Edge of Forever
- Mirror, Mirror
- Tholian Web
- Arena
- Enemy Within
- Doomsday Machine

(Not sure how many rewatches I'd actually do, of course, as they're not really my thing.)

I'd chuck Amok Time on that list.

And the Tribbles, of course. All this likemindedness is heartwarming stuff, but is there anywhere we can watch the aforementioned for free?

At least you'd be spared the 'Skip Intro' option that Netflix insists on providing. There are many shows where this might be an acceptable choice - but Trek ain't one of them. Imagine no 'Space...the final frontier...etc' every time you watch it. As if!

Thanks for the heads up OVZ. Here's what else I found:

S02E04 Mirror, Mirror https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7u...eo/x7uq0fn
S03E09 Tholian Web https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8f...eo/x8fz414
ST S01E18 Arena https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8i...eo/x8ip2xp
ST S01E05 The enemy within https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8l...eo/x8li6xh

S02E05 Amok Time https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x75...eo/x75q2id

Are these the right ones CB? Do they work?
Most of them are nearly an hour long. Only one per rewatch then? Eight weeks of it? What do the rest of you think?

You done VERY WELL. Some of those 'recordings' are a bit needs-must, though.

If I had a favourite, it might well be The Tholian Web - or the Great Cosmic Sewing Bee, as it should be known. May actually have to join you for that one.
