Now there's a quandary. A Travis tee-shirt or a Hugbot tee-shirt?

I'm in a quandary, which colors to choose! How can I just get one? Pink, green, blue? Great looking tee's Scott.

Oh, I know! I ordered three of the Servalan t-shirts for Maximum Power. A girl has to hijack Doctor Who conventions and needs the proper attire for doing so. Can't just let the Mutoids do it all!

Unfortunately, no, but we'll be there is spirit. Looking forward to all the photos, reviews and general mayhem of the day being reported on this site and others! Don't do anything we wouldn't do! Hi,

There is a Premier Inn and a Marriott close to Steventon, a lot of people will be staying at one of these. They are adjacent to each other and are on the bus route from Didcott Station to Steventon.

The pubs in Steventon usually offer rooms and there are a few small guesthouses, but it is debatable whether these will have any space, we do rather take over the area on these weekends. Other helpful info for the weekend below:

VENUE:
Steventon Village Hall, The Green, Steventon, Abingdon OX13 6RR

Steventon is a village in South Oxfordshire, approximately ten miles south of Oxford, and between the towns of Abingdon, Didcot and Wantage. The Hall is situated on the main road through Steventon on the corner of the very large Village Green.

CAR PARKS:
There are 3 small car parks in the village – one at the village hall (OX13 6RR), the school (OX13 6SQ) and on the left at the start of Milbank Way (OX13 6FF) as well as various on street parking. All the car parks listed above are free, but not that big. Can we please ask anyone coming by car to park with due consideration to the village residents, not blocking footpaths/ driveways etc, it would be very much appreciated.


CASH/CARDs (FEDERATION BANKING INFO):
We have had a few enquiries regarding methods of payment. Cash payments will be required for the autograph sales, and most other event activities. Coinage would be appreciated for the various raffles, tombola’s, charity sales table, food and drink, etc.

Team Blake is hoping to be able to accept limited Paypal Payments for the Auction items, but this is yet to be confirmed. Some of the vendors ‘may’ have the facility to take card payments but it would be best to assume that cash is preferred. Please note there is wi-fi in the hall, but it quickly gets overwhelmed if too many people are using it, so don't rely on it for transactions.

There is a free cash machine situated in the nearby Co-Op, open from 7.00am – 10.00pm on Sundays, where ‘cash back’ is also available. Co-Op 8-10 High St, Steventon, Abingdon OX13 6RS

FISH & CHIP VAN – We are pleased to welcome the popular chip van back to Steventon, serving hot food and drinks in the village hall car park for a limited time, for exact times and how to order ask at registration on the day.

TEA / COFFEE / COLD DRINKS / BASIC SNACKS – will be available in the village hall cafe in the Fan Zone.

At the Milton Interchange (aka Milton Gate) there's McDonalds, Costa Coffee, M&S and a Miller & Carter Restaurant. It's about a mile away and is also where the Premier Inn and Marriott hotels are located.

TRANSPORT:
Just a little info with regards to travel, fingers crossed everything is running normally that weekend.
Oh, for a working Teleport system! The nearest Railway Station to the venue is Didcot Parkway, and buses run regularly from there to Steventon Green (just by the hall). The route numbers are X2 and X36. If anyone wants specific info, we will do our best to enquire.

Taxis are available from the rank at the station but it's probably wise to book a return journey for Sunday pm.

Richard Putley, not only a steadfast Blake’s 7 fan, but he also knows his way around trains! Richard suggests that anyone going to SEEK-LOCATE-CELEBRATE, who's not yet bought a train ticket, uses www.nationalrail.co.uk
It will direct you to one of the train companies website if you wish to buy a ticket online. DO NOT USE the Trainline as their data is sometimes inaccurate and they charge a booking fee. Whereas most of the Train Operators, particularly who serve Didcot Parkway do not ( gwr.com ). Hi all I might not be able to come Friday
night hurt my knee, just come out of hospital,torn a ligament on crutches,but might settle down by next weekend enough to drive the 3 hour trip, I'm m going to do the exercises and rest,hope I don't lose my new job, my sister in-law is a nurse (very highly
trained) given me some advice.
Can take up to 2 weeks if worse than they think now can take up to 3 months and/or if not better operation. Got physio on the 10th might re-xray , possible operation.

This is my first post but I should have joined years ago.

I don't get excited about things these days, (it started a while after they fitted the limiter) however, I am really looking forward to attending the convention on Sunday.

B7 has been a 'part of my life' since watching the TV series as a boy. I watched it rather simplistically back then, I was invested in the charisma of Blake, his mission to defeat the baddies and the amazing concept of The Liberator. It was only later, in my 20s when the series was released on VHS, that I discovered the profound brilliance of the script and the acting properly. Blake was no longer the focus, he was just the glue that held a wonderful cast together. The perfect foil to Avon releasing Avon to be the perfect foil to everyone else

The show could shift effortlessly between real tension and clever comedy when it needed to, the contrast intensifying both, hence so many episodes have a real rollercoaster ride feel to them, especially if you don't remember what's going to happen next!

Anyway, I wanted to thank the members of this forum for keeping something I love so alive after so many years. In addition, to thank all those who have the passion and enthusiasm to organise events like the one on Sunday (thanks especially to Scott and Hazel who took the time to contact me). I only found out by pure chance but I am delighted to have a ticket and it means a lot to me...life isn't much fun sometimes but this will be!
