Sorry to hear you've been ill, Anne. Probably caught it from one of your pupils. Hope you remembered the honey and lemon.

No, I know where I got it - a woman I was sitting next to at a meeting who coughed and spluttered for the entire hour.

I'm just sick of being permanently too tired to do anything except crawl from the bed to the sofa.

Definitely know that feeling. All you can do is keep dosing yrself up and eat fresh oranges. The vit c helps apparently.

I have bags of little clems, will they do?

Get 'em down yr neck.

Will do!

I feel like I've been rough with a nun.

Good grief, it's finished. It seemed to go a lot quicker tonight. Great storyline, too.

Now I'm hearing the words 'will do' to the tune of 'Show Me' from My Fair Lady.

No, but my house backs on to where the old York City ground used to be, so I saw a lot of fans going to the game.

I haven't, but I grew up not far from Manchester, and our local team once drew United in the FA cup. We lived a good 3/4 mile from the ground, and there were cars parked everywhere for miles around, even in our road. And we could hear the noise - the roars when someone scored. Or didn't. Brilliant!

Isn't it more tantalising just to hear about her in conversation? Like Arthur Daley's 'er indoors.

Funny that it is always invisible women. Is there any example of a male relative who is notorious but never seen?

M1795537OCVirn
They wouldn't do it like that now. They'd have someone playing those characters, and demonstrating all the things the original let you use your imagination about. Nobody lets you imagine now. They spell it out on screen, maybe because people don't read enough these days and don't know how to imagine..
