Episode 962

I know an old centipede who swallowed a fly...

PS Og says the dinosaurs haven't died out. His friend Rex visits his shed sometimes to share a pizza.

PPS I reckon if we're clever enough with Bluey's washing machine, we can find out the ultimate question to Life, The Universe and Everything...

PPPS I also reckon Sherlock and Miss Marple have located Sue's hidden stash of Vems on-board by now... something I gave them as a little side-project...

A weasel walks into a pub and has a seat at the bar.

The amused barkeep says, 'You don't look like you're 21, but would you like something non-alcoholic to drink?'

To no one's surprise, "Pop," goes the weasel.

It could be your new thing, Paula. You just post all across the forum during a rewatch and we have to locate your posts, like in a treasure hunt.

So is Chickxulub what they call Earth? Did we know that?

Also, all their names... Ruby etc.

"Radical nudists" is a great expression. I'd say "Bring them on!" but I believe it was forbidden in mediaeval times by Pope Goethevezal.

Sorry…can’t do anything till I get through this overflowing laundry basket full of grotty horn-warmers.
I look exactly as Avon reasoned I would.

It probably involves shower rooms and interrogation tables...

No, no no! They'll be none of that here, however funny it is! Thinking back on that con quiz, I think we scared the moderator half to death, actually, to the point to telling her we knew someone who worked there and we could go as far as to ring her up so she could tell her it was Oldbury, not Gloucestershire Power station! And me, telling her I'd been there twice, by that time. Actually very fun memories of Brad, TT and me at a Dimensions Con years ago!

Oh, good lord, you actually got The Time Tunnel over there?

Every week winding up on the verge of a historical disaster (The Alamo, Krakatoa, The Trojan War, The Titanic), but can never change anything..... If this wasn't a Doctor Who ripoff, it did a good impersonation of a Doctor Who ripoff. Also probably the (at least partial) inspiration for Quantum Leap.

Oh I absolutely love Tome Tunnel. as did my Daughters.
Our fave was one of the early ones where Tony and Doug went back to Pearl Harbour and Tony met his Dad who actually admitted, just as he passed away, that he knew The Big Tony was his son! Tears all round in our house

We did... sort of.
In the 70s, they broadcast about half of the episode. Those were the days: the higher-ups in the TV stations decided what was deemed suitable for the general public. It was the same with original Star Trek, when they only bought about half of the episodes, and when the audience demanded more, they said, 'No, the rest of the series is too violent and in bad taste.' One wonders about the taste of the decision makers, because nearly all the best episodes were among those they didn't show.
For some reason, I didn't watch the series in the 70s. Maybe it was broadcast beyond my bed time; on the other hand, I got a special dispense for watching Raumpatrouille, which also aired late in the night. My old buddy Manfred had seen it and was raving about it.
Then in the 90s, another TV station bought and re-dubbed all episodes. Again, it didn't watch it (for no particular reason), although my old friend Axel found it quite entertaining.
I only watched a few episodes about ten years ago somewhere on the Internet, and I was actually underwhelmed. Case in point is the Titanic episode. I know a bit about maritime history, and I wondered why they didn't even bother to get the most basic facts right.

By the way, there was an attempt at a relaunch in 2002. They produced a pilot episode, which was not only not picked up but actually never aired. Later, it got released as a bonus features on the DVDs of the original series. There is a lot wrong with that version, but all in all I found it quite entertaining and promising. I would have liked to see that version of TT. You can watch the pilot here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwyQs...wyQssw-6-k
