They’re about to commit a grave offence Why do I have the feeling you've been writing these zingers out for hours? They write themselves, to be fair. So I don't have to take the blame |

I keep harking back to Young Frankenstein somehow.... It's actually a better story.... The mark of a great comedy... if you took the laughs out, is it still a good movie? . . Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo! |

This has really little to do with the original novel. I was astounded when I read it all those years ago.

was this girl in the original story, or is she the sex interest? It's been a long time since I read the book, but IIRC Victor did indeed have a fiancé. . . Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo! |

This has really little to do with the original novel. I was astounded when I read it all those years ago. In the opening credits they said "Book by Mrs Percy B Shelley"! FFS!!!! She doesn't even get a proper namecheck |

“I’d go to the ends of the Earth for you” “What about Stoke?” “Not Stoke” Stoke is for zombies, so the monster would fit in.. Edited by OneSparePart on 18-03-2026 20:00 Silflay hraka, u embleer rah!

My Dad who was 11 when this film came out told me that with Frankenstein, and also Dracula, the images and story were so horrifying, women were fainting in the cinema.

My Dad who was 11 when this film came out told me that with Frankenstein, and also Dracula, the images and story were so horrifying, women were fainting in the cinema. That's been reliably documented. Both had to be quite a shock in 1931. I know that Frankenstein was originally rated X for adults only. . . Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo! |
