That was too far back for me. I did watch The Dukes Of Hazzard!

Have you ever watched it? It's always on itv4

I'm not really into straight cop shows. They've got to have a twist - such as this one.

I ask you both cos I wonder if you get all the parallels to 70s cop shows as well as the real thing.

I'm guessing Gene Hunt is based on them.

Ah, I llove the bits where the girl from the test card comes to life!

I remember until the early 1980s when BBC2 was just the test card (except for the schools programmes) until around 6pm.

It's a touch of genius to use the test card.

Signifies he touched her bloody body?

Nice touch by the director, actually. For goodness sake - didn't you do Macbeth? Let me spell it out for you. He feels responsible, because he knows he was responsible, except he couldn't do anything else. Get with the plot, woman.

I've seen a few bits of the Sweeney but didn't 'watch' it as such. Ditto Dukes of Hazzard.

Dukes Of Hazzard wasn't really a cop show. Which is probably why I liked it.

Although when it was shown in 2006, I think a large part of the audience was on the side of Gene Hunt and his old-fashioned methods..
