This picture in Shurik's flat was made by the famous artist Ilya Repin. It is called Ivan the Terrible and his son Ivan. According to the famous version Ivan the Terrible killed his son in rage. He hit him with a stick. Now though this version is questioned. There is evidence that he was sick at that time. Nobody knows for sure. I did wonder - thank you. Who is the Boris that he was accusing of wanting to make himself Tsar? |

Marfa was the third wife of Ivan the Terrible. Unfortunately, she was sick and died shortly after the wedding. |

Alexander Demyanenko (Shurik) is famous as a comedy actor. There are a few other comedies with him. Maybe we can watch them someday, if you like this one. |
