Just announced in the last hour as guests for Chicago TARDIS 2024 convention, in Lombard, Illinois, the three-day weekend of Thanksgiving, November 29, 30, and 31 the following Blake's 7 actors. Also appearing so far will be Paul McGann, Sonny McGann, Sylvester McCoy, Annette Badlands and more to be named later. I am so glad we already have our tickets and we are very excited to hear these stellar actors will be gracing our 'local' Doctor Who. Convention. Time for a new Blake's 7 wardrobe, me thinks. Wonderful news Paula Isn't it though? We've been bouncing around after hearing the news, like kids who have eaten too much candy! It's going to be great! Lorna's been to a ChicagoTARDIS con- we took her to one when she visited us a few years ago - so she knows what fun we'll have. Resist the Host

It's funny, thinking of last year's con. We were at the Big Finish tables in the Dealer's room and head-honcho Jason Haig-Ellery came up to us and said, 'Hey you two, why aren't you wearing your Blake's 7 t-shirts?' I told him, Jason, we were wearing them on Friday and Saturday and today we thought we'd celebrate Doctor Who and wear the ones we have on. And besides, we took a group photo with you and the Big Finish cast Friday morning, wearing our Blake's7 regalia, and you didn't notice?? It's nice to know the 'boss'. I promise to do my utmost to hijack the con and various panels to a Blake's 7 one. And with Jan, Sally and Brian to help- it's in the bag! We'll go full 'you're those Blake people' as Nicholas Briggs describes us. Resist the Host

I am so excited about these three guests! It has been so long since there has been a Blake's 7 event in Chicago. I was lucky to attend five years of the Visions cons (1993--1997) and treasure the memories of seeing the main cast--the banter between Paul and Gareth, how friendly Sally, Jan and Jackie were when I got their autographs...this is such a nice surprise  I can only attend on Sunday but I hope to make the most of it! Now where is my "Teleport Now Orac!" button? Jeff |

Glad to hear you are planning to attend, DJTJ, at least one day. It looks to be a great con now we have Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann and Jo Martin as the Doctors, plus a lot of companions and authors, and other assorted Big Finish people! Wow! We may have to convene a Horizon fan club meeting as we could be seeing quite a few of our members attending this year. And by the way, we attended all the Vision's cons since 1991- so yes, we know how fantastic those cons were! Resist the Host

At one of the Visions cons I proudly showed the Horizon button I was wearing to two bemused fan club members who were at the Horizon table in the fan room...remember how fun Mr. Darrow made the auctions, too? Riveting, and I wasn't even trying to bid! |
