Think I know the answer to this, but exploring whether anyone might be in the market to rewatch some fun old tat from yesteryear. Maybe once a month. No, not just 'The Wasp Woman'. There's plenty more where that came from. (And not necessarily just movies either.) An opportunity to park the insightful insights and perspicacious perspicacity just for a while. Thank God.

How about 'Earthquake Underground'? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aDAi...aDAi3yG12U I mean, where else would it be? This has got to be a complete disaster of a disaster film.

Yip. I can get behind that. Is there a sequel, 'Extraterrestrials from Beyond Earth'? Or 'Hot, Tall Towering Inferno'? We took the wrong step years ago...

So then, fellow Connoisseurs of Crud... Thanks for putting in your input to our input output. Tempted to hit the 'go' button for a trial Crud Film Club: Sh*te Fright Nite around Halloween time (can't do it before then, due to birthday nonsense and history/mystery rambles related to the stones* near Salisbury). If that's a 'success' (i.e. it doesn't end up with me watching a flimsy film on my Jack Jones), could try another one at the back end of November. In terms of the first one, I'm not actually too bothered what scary movie's on the menu - earthquake, carpet or wasp-related - as long as it's definitively daft. * The stones, not the Stones. Mick's not coming. Not this time. We took the wrong step years ago...

Having taken advice from my strategic consultant (M1), I'll push ahead with the idea of a test 'sesh' at the very back end of this month. Not Wasp Woman (it's not worth the hassle - well, not yet anyway), so maybe a grass-roots approach is what's needed. If anyone thinks crud might be their jam, here's a shortlist of four old schlocker shockers, in alphabetical order. Or should that be 'ordure'. All available on YouTube. Speak, citizen-voters: - Attack of the Crab Monsters - Plan 9 from Outer Space - The Creeping Terror - The Giant Claw Day/time can be nailed down in due course. Assuming there are actually some votes. If votes are tied, I'll refer the matter to the House of Lords or, if not sitting, the surviving members of Atomic Rooster for a binding decision. In dire danger of overthinking this and disappearing up my own clacker. So changed my mind. Eff it - let's watch 'The Wasp Woman' in Halloween week. Then we can all get on with our lives and work on delivering world peace. Moving forward, perhaps the Crud Film Club should have two-tier membership. But that's probably me overthinking it again.

Two tier membership? How'll that work? I had a whole 'funny' para here but I deleted it because I sometimes go too far! I still think it was funny but I decided to be good, so you'll never know how witty it was (n't). I look forward to reading your explanation of 2 tier membership especially since I probably won't qualify for either of them. I could create a rogue tier but some (M'Boss) would say I do that already. Alien carpets ahoy! Edited by OneSparePart on 05-10-2024 22:56 Silflay hraka, u embleer rah!

Should I be embarrassed, Cygnus Bazza, that I have seen all of the films in your list numerous times? No, of course not, we're what you call crud connoisseurs, my hubbie and me. We're lately on a Godzilla marathon, enjoying the likes of our favorite lizard with Gaos, Rodan, King Ghiderah, and other lesser rubber monsters.

I look forward to reading your explanation of 2 tier membership especially since I probably won't qualify for either of them. I could create a rogue tier but some (M'Boss) would say I do that already. Alien carpets ahoy! The really, really good news is that rewatching The Champions has done wonders for my telepathic abilities. I managed to detect your funny para wafting around the ether just before you deleted it. For my money, there’s really no such thing as ‘too far’ and the world has been greatly impoverished by its deletion. Don’t do it again. Mind you, the add-on joke about Tremayne and what he could do with his coloured pencils was a bit borderline. Two-tier membership? I was considering how we could make the CFC as much fun as possible by giving it some of the pointlessly complex, needlessly divisive structures of a proper ‘club’. But your rogue tier idea has gazumped my puny two-tier musings. Reckon we need MULTIPLE oddball membership categories. The Rogue Membership concept is, frankly, brilliant. You should be the CFC’s first official Rogue Member. We can worry about what privileges & responsibilities this entails in due course. But everyone who ‘joins’ should choose their own form of membership. Personally, I might opt for Non-executive Executive Non-flexible ‘Flex’ Membership. As you can tell, this is a work in progress. (Ideas very welcome.) This is actually going very well! I’m slightly disorientated as a result. We took the wrong step years ago...

OK, Crud Crew, here’s what we gotta do… Clear ‘The Wasp Woman’ for take-off. Looking at the last bit of the month, just ahead of Halloween. Any suggestions/preferences for days/times??? Be good to cordon something off. And for people to take advantage of the CFC's limited-period two-for-none membership deal. Decided to plump for the rather complex-sounding 'Advanced Lounge-Access/Reciprocity Membership'. Quite simple in practice. Lets me (i) take my laptop down to the lounge for CFC purposes and (ii) enjoy the facilities of affiliated CFCs across the world. Magic! This membership category is known as ALARM. Note that Rogue Membership (ROME) is limited to one person, so there are no vacancies. If the Pope applies, he can sling his hook. There. I said it. OK, as an All Hallows Eve Eve Special, I propose rewatching 'The Wasp Woman' on Wednesday 30th October at the witching hour... Otherwise known as 7.45 p.m. Will set up a thread in due course. The big question is, who's got the bottle to go full throttle with 73 minutes of slightly iffy entertainment? Be there or be a wuss. What could possibly/probably go wrong? Are we back on WW? I thought you'd given up on that...at least for the time being. Do you know what? I'm not too bothered what's on the menu. As long as there's a menu. In fact, I say go for the instinctive option and decide on the day. Wasps, carpets, claws, crabs. Whatever. Add a bit of jeopardy. Or is that a bit radical for a Horizon rewatch??? Will I get told off? Will I have contravened the Terms & Conditions? We took the wrong step years ago...

At this rate we'll all be rewatching different films on the 30th... another first for Horizon! I think I'm beginning to agree with CB - let's get this Wasp thing over and done with, despite TT's warnings, and then we can go on to something...worse....
