BFI Day Reports and Thoughts
OracVZen
Well hello everyone, I'm starting this thread for all that attended The BFI Showing of Seek-locate-destroy, Orac extras and Q&A.
Well the journey from westcliff on sea to Waterloo was great, the build up etc until I got there. I was well early. (Don't ask)

Now to the event , it was awesome, The quality of the screening was jaw dropping in high Def and on the large screen, blew me away. You really noticed sharpness and especially the edges of things.
Look out for scenes on the Liberator main screen, great green laser lines in foreground fades to background dead centre of screen ,you really have to look though.
The sound was so good, when villa banged his head on the door you could hear and almost feel the thud (bass), same when the amphibians was hit with a rock or kicked by Travis.
The extras was even better quality, the explosions and planet scenes especially so, vibrant colours and clear picture quality.
The guests and Q & A was entertaining, revealing and funny.
During the showing the audience (including myself) laughed out aloud quite a few times.
Meeting new people and a couple I meet before was great.
There were so many standout moments of the showing and the day (I let others add their view).
In closing Special thanks go to;
Supreme Commander (Diane) for her herculanean efforts in sourcing my ticket and to Robert Fairclough (great bloke) for giving me his spare ticket for free.
Also To Henry, for the company.
Well any questions, comments and your own thoughts, ask away or add
OracVZen (John).

Thanks, OVZ, for telling us what it was like! Glad you enjoyed the quality of the visuals. Sounds like a great day all round.

Your welcome M179, obviously I could go more in-depth, but this for anyone to explain

I am so pleased for everyone that could go that it was such a great day! I couldn’t make it, unfortunately, but I look forward to the tales of the day…

Were there any opportunities for signings by Sally & Jan?

It was an excellent event and I'll try and write a bit more in due course but to OVZ I'm so glad I was able to help you get a ticket.

It was good to catch up with so many people I hadn't seen for ages although sadly I know several friends were there who I didn't manage to find. I've taken some great photos too - first 'outing' for my new phone with it's awesome camera - and will try to share some in due course (I've yet to figure out how to upload photos onto the forum but will get them up somehow.

I'm hearing great things about this screening and the quality of the restored episodes. Also that the mix-up on the SLD film inserts on the DVD have been corrected for the Blu-ray.

In the immortal words of young Mr. Grace, "[They've] all done very well!"

Im late to the party, but I have to agree the BFI showing was a great day out, and the quality of the restored episodes is fantastic.

The new effects are very sympathetic with the original style and do not look out of place at all with the surrounding sequences (the originals are still going to be there for the purest’s amongst us!)

We are not going to be disappointed with the discs when they arrive!
