Rewatch Downunder Saturday 2nd November D5 Animals
M1795537OCVirn
Start times : Downunder at 8.30pm (AEDT), UK 09.30am (GMT/UTC) (I hope)

D5 Animals
The one you've all been waiting for, everyone's favourite...OG'S BIG DEBUT (and exit). Yet another brilliant character appears and disappears without being invited to join the crew of the Scorpio. And I'm not talking about the Creep. Here we discover what Dayna was really learning from her tutor (and possibly the reason she's now so fixated on weapons that can kill). I mean, what was Hal thinking?
We are also subjected some 'therapy' sessions - as painful to watch as I imagine they were to make. Clearly, Commissioner Sleer's minions had forgotten to bring the Pylene 50, so she was forced to use an antiquated set-up she found lying about. Those responsible have been dealt with. It will not happen again.
No fake animals were harmed in the making of this episode, but a lot of valuable laboratory equipment was viciously destroyed.
Moral: don't leave the door open.
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

Very likely why Josette Simon doesn't attend fan gatherings.... LOL

Maybe not but a real one was (Justin)! Thank goodness!!

In all seriousness I have to say I am very keen for this episode to start - because the sooner it starts the sooner it's ends........ ;-)

That’s a shame, you make such beautiful jewellery.

I’m good getting through a few things in my garden.

That's great! I wish I had time to do mine. The wind last week dried everything. I hate that late October wind.

Tarrant's hair is getting a bit unruly. I wonder who will do the Space hairdressing?

Hello, I'm here, late as usual. The opening shot of this one, with the planet, is rather nice. A pity it's mostly downhill after that.

I'm OK - it was half-term this week, which gave me a bit of a breather, and a chance to clear a bit of the backlog. I finally got a repairman in to look at my oven, which hasn't been working for a month or two. Actually turned out to be quite straightforward - so I should have done it sooner really. There's a moral in that . . .

I also took Wednesday off, and went to Leeds to see Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore, which was very enjoyable.

Hi AA, Nice to have you on board. For this episode we need as many of us as possible so we can give each other moral support. LOL.

Dayna is a bit pettish and Justin is a bit paternalistic. It fits, but it seems out of character for Dayna.

I was thinking that it was probably Vila who had taken over. His dislike of Tarrant might explain what he is doing to his hair.

Poor Dayna is frequently out of character.

Piña Colada actually. Not very Blake’s 7-ish but very alcoholic so it suits this episode. LOL

I find the assumption that adrenaline and soma is the drink of choice for everyone I find very lazy. It clearly ISN'T a beverage, but a medicinal tonic. At least one writer ought to have come up with a beer or G&T equivalent for the future.

Your oven problem sounds like one of those annoying things where it’s really easy once you know how.

Gilbert & Sullivan – nice. :-)

The basic idea of using genetically engineered soldiers is fine, it's just the clumsy way it's. done. The episode is also rather slow, which suggests they had to drag it out.

I’m sure Vila would agree with me when I say - as long as it’s got alcohol in it…….. LOL

Perhaps the Federation has a puritanical bent - alcohol is produced for medicinal purposes only? Then repurposed by the people?

Are Dayna and Justin supposed to be wearing the same colours?? They are almost but not exactly.
