O WHISTLE AND I'LL COME TO YOU Thursday 28th November
OneSparePart
TIME: 7.45pm be there snd be scared

The best version ( as much as I love John Hurt) features Michael Hordern as a crusty old academic who fetches up at a seaside hotel off season. Begging for something bad to happen then, isn't he?
If you haven't seen this before, you're in for a treat. If you have, you're in for a treat.
Prepare to be spooked.

Great selection. Indeed, great selections all round. Epic shift.

Quick bump for this thread too, as the time is almost upon us... Such a big M R James fan. Quite enjoyed Mark Gatiss's revival of the Xmas tradition in recent years, but you can't beat the 'originals'.

While I think of it, for your potential future rewatch pile - and I've doubtless suggested these before - there's also 'The Ghosts of Motley Hall' and 'The Clifton House Mystery' - both late '70s ITV series for children with a supernatural theme (and the inevitable, much sought-after cult status).

Plus there was the BBC's 'Supernatural' series from '78(?) which might be worth a shufty at some point.

Random rewatch rumination - have Horizon done 'Life on Mars'? Justification would be that it's set in the 70s, the era that brought us B7. And it's got 'Mars' in the title, so counts as 'spacey'. Oh, plus a dollop of ersatz time travel, so a bit sci-fi-y. Triffic telly, basically. Would be a hoot and a half and help blitz those January blooz.

LOM is one of my fave shows.

Evening all. Looking forward to these ghostly watches but I will be immediately tuning into a comedy rewatch after, as I cannot go to bed having been 'frit stiff' as they say round here.

What's to be scared of? Ghosts aren't real.

My brain is divided into 2 halves. One half logically disbelieves, the other half has way too much imagination.

Greetings, gang. Looking forward to this morality tale of what happens when you excavate an artefact and don’t fill in a Context Record Sheet.

LOM is available on I-player, btw.

Is it just the Triumvrate tonight, then? Or maybe AA will join us later.

Ha! No wonder the Rebellion is failing!

IIRC there’s absolutely no music in this whatsoever. Not even a stealth bassoon.

I hope those maids remember to fold the end of the bog roll into a pointless point

Is that Southport beach on a July afternoon?

Why wasn’t Michael Ripper cast in the role of driver? I hope he took legal action

In the original story, he DOES go there for the golf. Not sure why they changed it. Perhaps to make the Prof look even more boring than a golfer
