THE AMAZING MR BLUNDEN Thursday 12th December
OneSparePart
TIME: 7.45pm

Based on the novel by Antonia Barber - it's a children's classic.

Mr Blunden is played by Lawrence Naismith. He is wonderful in this as are the plethora of British stars who appear in the film too.

You're ready, I'm Freddy. I assume CB won't be here tonight with this rewatch not featuring either gruesome acting or monsters. Mind you, he did do BoD.

Are we starting bang on time or waiting for AA?

He might be writing more song lyrics, I suppose. Or another 'banned ficlet'. I've given up trying to double-guess him. How's things with you O 'Sublety' P?

I have had a horrible cold for 2 weeks. My ears pop every time I blow my nose now. And you?

I think we should start. I am anyway, and I bet you already have.

Sounds like something is getting through, then. Fine here. Aching all over, but that's what yet another covid jab does to you.

Here now. I've never heard of this either, but the start is promising - it's midwinter, and a widow and her children are leaving their house . . .

Why am I the only one to have seen this? I thought it was required seasonal viewing along with The Railway Children. Also by Lionel Jeffries

Creepy children's rhyme - and a real one too, I know it from elsewhere. And I assume this venerable gentleman is Mr Blunden.

Because we all have better things to do than watch TV all day every day. Although, I have to say, so far it's looking interesting. Hope it doesn't go all gooey.

Sorry you have such a horrible cold, OSP - there's a lot of them about.

AnneArthur
Mr Blunden's a ghost, isn't he?

M1795537OCVirn
That baby is a brilliant actor.

Worst one I'vd had for 20 years. Thought it would never go away. Still, onwards and upwards!

This is really enjoyable. How has it passed me by all these years?

M1795537OCVirn
Excellent. Hubby turned up with crisps and a hot chocolate to keep me going.

That's what I've been asking. I've seen it several times over the years.

Hve you tested it for covid? ( Sorry, I was talking to OSP). Hit the wrong quote. That wisteria could do with pruning. A little job for James, perhaps?

OK. I thought it was Victorian, but it's Edwardian.

Hve you tessted it for covid?

I think you are talking to OSP. Why would I test a film for Covid?

In the book, it's more modern.

How much do you bet that Diana Dors turns up as the cheery village lady who makes everything make sense?
