Liking the hat. maybe I should wear it next time we go to Steventon. Great idea! Maybe next time, we all dress up as our Observatory counterparts. Although I might get into trouble with airport security. |

Assuming Mr Rex doesn't immediately reappear like Boaty did, this could explain how the dinosaurs became extinct. Or it could be a big problem when one materialises on their ship. Or, if we cut back to the hotel - where I'm still unsure if we left without settling the bill - perhaps the bellhop checking TT's room might be in for a nasty surprise. |

I'm also waiting for the dinosaur to re-appear at some point! Vote Og.

Adric himself also became extinct Became extinct, yes! I can't tell you how much it drives me to distraction when I hear people say things like "The dinosaurs went extinct." |

If the Chef puts the globe under his hat, we might get a "Rexatouille" situation where his cooking is guided by a ferocious, carnivorous dinosaur. TT: (Looking under serving cover) "Raw steaks? Again?!?" |

Move aside Adric. Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey, there can be multiple reasons why the dinosaurs became extinct - and the story seems to be building towards another one... Vote Og.

Poor Boaty didn't take long to revert to thick mode (maybe he had Spare Head 3 on, when he had a bright idea). Vote Og.

To a writer Jurassic Park sounds cooler than Cretaceous Park!! I look behind me, what do I see? A pair of golden wings seem to be attached to me.

Alas, script writers are frequently having to lower the intellectual tone of their works to the lowest common denominator.... Jurassic Park: Hey, is that about dinosaurs? Cretaceous Park: Whut???? . . Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo! |

To a writer Jurassic Park sounds cooler than Cretaceous Park!! The German translation of the novel was originally published under the title DinoPark. (However, when the film came out under the original title, the publishers switched to Jurassic Park for the book as well.) In German, the title "Jura-Park" would have sounded more like a recreation ground for lawyers, while "Kreidepark" (cretaceous park) might have conjures up images of school (as Kreide literally means chalk). And whenever I hear "Jurassic Park", I have to think of an Irish retirement home for elderly (and very hairy) priests... ![]() |

What my alter ego says in the second frame is the plot for the Doctor Who story Invasion Of The Dinosaurs, where (spoilers) Captain Mike Yates is part of a misguided group which wants to revert the Earth to prehistoric times when times were simpler, with the problem is that they need to commit mass murder to achieve that. Cracking story that one. Vote Og.

It was marketing, plain and simple. Jurassic has better brand name recognition. . . Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo! |
