Five and six? No chance. I'm watching two and eight. It's what Chas & Dave would have wanted. In terms of the perennial question, 'whatever next?', may I float an idea. In 1983, Vere Lorrimer produced 'The Dark Side of the Sun', a 6-part mystery/thrilly thing set on Rhodes and successor to series like 'Who Pays the Ferryman?' (answer: M'ater, because I bought the drinks). As well as Peter Egan and Paddy Mower (a.k.a. OSP's dreamboat), the cast includes Michael 'Klegg' Sheard and someone who was nearly Leela in Dr Who. Outlandish plot, glamorous locations (Stoke wasn't available), a decent dollop of the 'action' M'ater viscerally craves and plenty of mickery extraction potential. Might be a decent autumn-evening-brightener. Greece is the word. |

There was a thing in the 70s/80s about tv series set in the greek isles. Perhaps they wanted the holiday... The Lotus Eaters, which ran to 2 series, was very good. I wasn't too keen on Who Pays the Ferryman although I was lacking focus when I tried to watch it. But Dark Side of the Sun sounds intriguing. I think I watched it back in the day but no core memories remain. I'm up for a watch of that.
