The Deadly Assassin in 1977. Castellan Spandrell is the Doctor's main ally in this story.

I don't remember that either. Still working my way through William Hartnell...so to speak...ahem...

Perhaps on a previous occasion the assassin failed, so he wasn't quite as deadly?

But I thought everyone was being socially adjusted as and when, so all was sweetness and light. Unless those two are deliberately sent to beat #6 up? Twice.

It all seems a bit easy for No 6 this week... this No 2 isn't the most effective!

But what, if anything, did #6 achieve? Number 2 changes every week. Meanwhile, he's still stuck in Portmerion.

Just had a sneak peek...this episode starts differently. Do not adjust your sets!

Incidentally, OSP. thought you might like to know that I'm getting rid of my copy of 'Watership Down'. Can't tolerate it in the house any longer. It's going to Oxfam directly.
