Still good though

Yep. Didn't like it. I read several of Baxter's but they weren't proper SF, IMO.

Not a huge fan myself but I quite liked Time ships but maybe because I like Wells.

One thing bugging me about this film version is that his front door opens onto the street. A gentleman would have - at the very least - a porch, a hall, or in a larger house his rooms would be upstairs.

A thought provoking film. If anyone wants to try, an unofficial chapter of the film can be seen via the 2nd link of my intro.

Definitely prefer the book, but as a film it was watchable. And the effects were better than most - for the technology they had then. Better than some B7 ones, in fact.

Americans always have to have a positive ending. Even if that ruins the point of the book.

Thanks for choosing and organising it, OSP. I wonder what you'll come up with next week? More George Pal, perhaps?
Anyway, nice talking to you all. Enjoy your Speedway next week, TT. We'll miss you.

Eostre was a goddess of spring: people sacrificed babies to her in the hope that she'd be pleased enough to come back every year. I'd rather celebrate Chocolate Sunday, but thanks for the thought.

Well, not to his own lifetime anyway, the first person narrator of the book tells us so.
