They've just set up an electric net for the thing and are waiting for it to turn up. I have to say that the word I would use for this film is 'intriguing'. There are some nice ideas, but I haven't found it the slightest bit frightening, and not even very suspenseful.

I'm a bit bothered how their electricity passed through the wooden (insulator) walkway, but hey, let's not be picky. (It's bad enough trying to keep our electric fence going out in the field - the grass keeps growing and shorting it out).

You don't get to see too much of the alien, which is a good thing - scary monsters don't bear too much examination. The effects are still extremely impressive, all these years later.

For me, it is one of those films that is so good that I don't care about the things that "don't work" . It is credible and so it works...for me. Not everyone's cup of iced tea. Grin

No, neither was I. Interesting and enjoyable, and it was a pleasant hour and a bit. I wouldn't mind seeing it again, now that I know that nothing much really happens, to pay more attention to some of what they are saying.

I can't remember being really frightened by any film/TV: I was more scared by books - because of what my imagination created from the text. One invents one's own rats - as in Room 101.

I'm not interested in horror as such, but half-way decent SF is fine.
