Don't the fake police have guns? Why don't they just shoot?

They believe! But he's on the point of falling asleep! Is he far enough away from those things, or is it too late for him? |

It's an American film, so it has to end with optimism (of a sort). Much more chilling if he'd fallen asleep. Then we'd never know who was who... But who's to say the rest of humanity would do any better? Those pods are being distributed as we watch! "You're not sulking, I hope?"

Nice idea, though, and quite well done. Only spoiled by the weak ending, really. You could split wood on that bloke's jaw. That's probably what won him the part. "You're not sulking, I hope?"

I highly recommend the remake. It's a bit more ghastly though. You'd like it M'Virn.

Question: are either of you SF fans? I thought these films I put up here were staples of the SF diet (apart from last week) and yet..

I still think some Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea would be worth a rewatch. Or maybe something like GalaxyQuest as an antidote to all the horror!

Galaxy Quest would be fun, although I quite fancy Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea too. I think, to my shame, I'm only really a sci-fi fan in the sense of TV series. I know quite a lot of those, and it's interesting to see how they interact, but I've never read much sci-fi, or got much into films. |

Apparently G-Q is available on Channel 4, but you may need to sign in with them first, or something. Thankfully, I have it on DVD. I have no idea what to choose from Voyage etc - I just remember I enjoyed it back when. But I can use the old 'stick a pin in it' method if that's acceptable. "You're not sulking, I hope?"

Brilliant. Sticking pins in is a very 'Voyage' thing to do. Hasta la vista!
